The main body of the machine is steel, with an ABS (plastic) water basin, rubber feet, and overall weighs around 13kg.*The foot pedal is simple and smooth to operate, giving you plenty of control over the speed of wheel, which in turn gives you confidence in your ability to make something useful instead of simply hurling clay all over the place..Overall, for the price and features I would say that this is a good value electric pottery wheel, especially for beginners/amateurs, I just wish that the packaging was more than the bare item in a couple of boxes (no plastic wrap, etc), as frankly this makes it look secondhand.
