This product looks good enough, but the cable strain relief does not fit flush into the cap. The product photos show it flush, but it is too big so about 1/4" of it remains sticking out. This is really poor quality control. I was going to use these on hanging pendant lamps but it will look bad with the threads on the cable strain relief showing. Also, one of the sockets was missing the bottom half of its cable strain relief set. Based on what I'm seeing so far without installing the sockets, I can only guess that they will fail during use due to poor quality. I do not recommend buying this product.

Item and product photo are not as described and picture of socket is different than product.Long sleeve has thick edge which prevents sleeve from screwing into 1 1/4 pipe fitting. Cap and sleeve get locked preventing opening the socket for repair. No cardboard sleeve.Has now delayed my project.Update...After working with the vendor it was determined that their item won't work with my project. This is through no fault of theirs. If anything, they did all they could do to help me. They were extremely courteous and very quick to reply to my emails, even on the weekend.I will definitely use them in the future.

First off they are one time use, once you snap the back cover on it locks and can't be taken off so test before closing the lid. I screwed the first one up but hey they were less than $2 each so oh well. The screw down connectors for the wires don't hold great so I soldered the wire just to be sure because you can't take them apart later if a wire comes loose. I'm not complaining just a heads up to other buyers, still a great deal at less than $2 per fixture.

They are cheap but when installed they look great. Invest in wire clamps and a pair of crimpers to make the install process easier and to reduce curse words. The section that twists together during the install process isn’t great but just keep turning and it always tightens down. I used over 40 and not a single one didn’t work as expected.

I was buying these at 2 for $16. These sockets are exactly the same except for the price!

Compared to other sockets I’ve wired, this doesn’t leave a lot of room for slack in the wires, and you have to curve the exposed wire underneath the screw to make a connection. If you don’t position it well, it’s easy to pull out a connected wire while working on the other. You’ll see what I mean if you get it.

My hubby is making floor lamps and needed these. It’s a good value and just what he needed.

These lights were purchased as additional overhead lighting for an outdoor seating area.
