Improves progressive scan video with some quirks.
I like this video up-converter with my DirecTV service and Blu-ray 3D player, but it has quirks with my LG 4K TV.Most HD signals on DirecTV are at 1080i resolution ( i for interlaced), and the mCable does nothing to these signals but pass them thru. But quite a few local stations and some cable stations are at 720p (p for progressive) resolution, and the mCable faithfully up-converts them to 1080p. Those stations look noticeably better when the signal changes over. That can take 5-10 seconds while my TV screen is black. If I play a DVR recording at 720p, that wait is even longer and my TV is complaining it has "no signal" near the end of that wait. I just have to be patient. However, if I start a 720p recording while on a 1080i station, sometimes the signal does not come back at all. Or it comes back with a big random green rectangle in the picture. The only solution is to turn off my DirecTV box for a few seconds and turn it back on. That is very annoying, and should not happen with a product that is supposed to handle all resolution changes. Many DirecTV on-demand programs are at 1080p, especially the ones you pay extra for. My TV reports that they are nicely up-converted to 2160p, and the pictures look very much improved. My Blu-ray 3D player is what I wanted the mCable for the most. All signals from it are at 1080p, including 3D. All are up-converted to 2160p according to my TV, just like the on-demand DirecTV programs. There is one quirk with the mCable and the Blu-ray player. For the first 10-15 minutes of a movie there are tiny white sparkles showing up in all the dark areas of the picture. For space movies in particular you can imagine that it's very annoying. But it does gradually go away. My theory is that since Blu-ray disc lasers are picking up data from the inside of the disc moving outward, the data bits are smaller and less reliable at the start of a program. Who knows? But the mCable has trouble with that also during the up-convert process. So bottom line for new buyers is... the improvement in picture quality (with quirks) be worth it to you for the price.

Really nice to have for 480i/720i OTA channels!
Works as advertised. I do see a small improvement in my newer 50" flat-screen. My signal is 1080p and the cable upscales to 4K. But I bought it primarily for the local channels that broadcast in 480i/720i, and it also upscales those to 1080!However, the second cable I purchased did not work on my 7 year-old 50" plasma TV because the TV resolution was not exactly standard. Marseille support team was wonderful, but their engineering department was still working on the problem by the time I had to return the cable for refund. I expect when they do fix the problem they will be contacting me. If you are thinking about buying one for your older plasma TV, check with Marseille first.

Worked perfectly for three weeks.
Picture dropped out intermittently for 1-2 seconds. At first, maybe once every few hours. Gradually it began to occur more often, up to twice an hour. Since I used this on a console, it was rendered useless. When it did work, it did a passable job antialiasing. It also upscaled 720p well, better than my tevlevision in fact.

Not HDCP 2.2 compliant
I have a 4K TV, a 4K blu-ray player, 4K receiver, Roku Ultra, and Steam Link. All HDCP 2.2 compliant. The problem is this cable is not. Any way that I try using this cable with the TV I get either a black screen or a reminder that this cable is not 4K compliant and I cannot take advantage of 4k. Which renders this HDMI cable pointless.

Great product by a great manufacture. Experiences may vary!
I'm getting exactly what I expected for why I bought this HDMI cable...to upscale my PS Vita Games on my PlayStationTV! It actually does a great job at cleaning up and boosting the picture quality/resolution from the usual 720p to 1080p on the PSTV. These games normally run at 544p on the PS Vita itself and 720p when playing on the PSTV so to see these game in 1080p is amazing and keeps ot true to it's stunning visuals you would get on the screen [notably the 1000/1 Model with the oled screen] of a PS Vita which has a much smaller screen. Great product for the price. From what I read of other customers reviews of this product, I think its best to unplug this HDMI cable's USB from power when not in use to prolong the longevity of its life span. I heard some of the customers cables dying or malfunctioning. Could have just been a faulty cable but you don't want this thing in constant power when you're not using. I know people may not want to be bothered with unplugged it often but it's to be considered for longevity.
