Q: Are these loose or fitted style shorts?

They are pretty loose - I would say moderately loose, perhaps right in the middle. Definitely not tight like bike shorts, and not as baggy like some running shorts.

Q: How long are they, looking to buy a medium.... inches from top of the waste down ?

For example, the length of size L: from crotch to the bottom is 7.5in , from the waist to the bottom is 19in. The length between each size is about 0.4in to increasing or decreasing.

Q: Does the pocket liner pull out, or is it fixed/sewn in? Ie, when you pull out a tennis ball does the liner fall out or stay put?

First- have not used them to play tennis.... so can't speak to that. The shorts are super comfortable and the pocket is not "fixed" per se. You can pull it out like you would if you were showing someone your pocket was empty.... however, it doesn't come out unless you pull it out on purpose....It may be that a tennis ball would pull it out somewhat but I feel you could pull it out in a way that would not automatically make that happen. Assume you prefer the ball come out and the pocket stays put right? Hope that helps!
