I wasn’t sure I needed a Cloudlifter at first—after all, the Samson Q2U is a budget mic, and I’m running it into a Behringer UMC404HD, which already has decent preamps. But I was having to crank the gain up to almost max just to get a usable signal, and that’s when the noise crept in.Enter the Cloudlifter. Hooked it up with a proper XLR cable, turned on phantom power, and boom—instant difference. I can now keep the interface gain much lower while still getting a clean, strong signal. No hiss, no weird background fuzz, just way better clarity and headroom. It doesn’t "change" the sound of the Q2U, but it definitely helps it shine.If you're using a dynamic mic like the Q2U and find yourself maxing out your interface’s gain, this little box is a lifesaver. It’s not cheap, but for me, the cleaner audio is worth every penny.

Clean signal booster. If you buy a XLR amp that is too weak to power your mic this will fix it.I found out that this is literally built into the mic I own after I bought this. Just out of annoyance of buying something I did not need I used this anyway and found the signal to be cleaner. So now I use this booster instead of the built in one.

Built well. Made in USA. I don't have to max out the gain on my audio interface anymore to get good sound. Does what it's supposed to do.Using w/ a scarlett 2i2 4th gen and rode podmic

I have tested this on both my dynamic mics and this cloud lifter has given a great clean gain boost without no static or white noise! This is especially helpful since I have a shure sm7b which is super gain hungry, so if you have a similar setup to mine (focusrite + shure sm7b or similar) this is a great investment!

Would be 5 star but the first one came broken, it's the classic cloud lifter when you can't afford an expensive compressor, and you need some clean gain. Now make sure your noise floor is already low, once you put this through, it'll be hissing more than a cat fight, but if you have a good interface with clean power expect nothing less than a great boost to your db, clean, without distortion. Recommended for anyone with a dynamic mic starting our in recording, it's plug and play, works exactly as intended, it's mindless, just remember to turn on 48v. Overall good value, it looks goofy but who cares when youre starting your new hobby. Good luck to all of you

The Cloud Lifter is the gold standard. Sound quality is fantastic. Lift the volume and not the noise.
