I adore this thing, in spite of my face hickey (it was my fault)
This is the second one I have bought for our household. I won’t go outside without it. We are recent transplants to Florida, and these are the meanest mosquitoes I’ve ever met. Sure, the Louisiana mosquitoes are the size of hummingbirds, but they’re not real go-getters unless you’re in the swamp. These Florida mosquitoes are sociopathic. Insanely aggressive and their bites are nasty and itchy. AND THEY ARE IN OUR BACKYARD! Two days ago I was in the yard and was attacked by a gang of these creatures. They dive-bombed me from all angles and chomped down on me more or less simultaneously. Side note: At the same time I learned that “natural” bug repellent made with essential oils might work on less ambitious mosquitoes, but it didn’t work with these. I ran inside to avoid further attack and grabbed the Bug Thing. I had a huge bite on my forehead (one of 12 bites in total), and it itched like crazy. I didn’t want to do to my face what I did to my arm a few years ago, scratching like a maniac while I slept and ending up with a scarred arm and blood-stained sheets. So I busted out the Bug Thing. In my eagerness to get rid of the itching, and because the bite was big, I kept the suction going for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I didn’t read the instructions with our first Bug Thing, because it seemed self-explanatory, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Turns out, there’s a big fat warning about not using it on your face. Who knew? (Everyone who read the instructions, but not the girl with the big purple circle on her forehead.) I regret NOTHING. This thing works amazingly well, and so what if I have a quarter-sized love bite on my forehead? Big whoop. THE BUG THING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ITCHING. Bruises go away; scars from fingernails, not so much. Another word of advice: I bought several of a knock-off brand, thinking, “It’s a plastic barrel with a plunger, how hard could it be to replicate?” I guess fairly hard, because the knock-offs were flimsy and I couldn’t really get a good vacuum with them. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t have been able to suck a ridiculous bruise to the surface of my face with one of the knock-offs, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to suck the itch juice out of my skin, either. I’d much rather have a bruise than a bite. Anyway, this thing is awesome, just don’t use it on your face…or do. I would100% do it again.

Stop those itchy bugs
I saw this on Shark Tank and thought that if it worked it would be worth the money. I seem to be prone to bug bites. Well I testify it does work. I haven't tried it for wasp or bee, but it works for mosquitoes and that it good enough for me. All my grandchildren ages 8 and up used it as well, and stopped itching those pesky mosquito bites. No battery, it was easy for all of us to use. It's a good size to put in your first aide kit when you are camping or hiking.

Definitely worth Trying! It may help you!
As I get older mosquito bites are becoming a real problem. I hate bug spray but forced to use it constantly. If you use this shortly after you discover your itching from a bite 8 times out of 10 it should work. Prevents the bite from going further and never bothering you again or at least diminishes the itch so much that it’s not a problem anymore. Leaves a ring that disappears quick enough on your skin. For elderly adults I would caution to not leave the suction too long for I could see it bruising their skin. I keep it in my bag and feel happy to be able to help myself should I get a bite. Not hard to use and may give you relief. Worth checking out. It’s an ok price. I will see how long this gadget lasts. But I get the impression it’s not going to lose its suction might anytime soon .

Decent Tool for Quick Relief, But Not a Miracle Fix
The Bug Bite Thing is a clever little gadget — the white color makes it easy to find, and it’s lightweight enough to toss in a bag or keep on a nightstand. It does help with pain relief and itching a bit after mosquito bites, though it’s not a complete fix. Sometimes you have to use it more than once for noticeable results. Quality-wise, it feels sturdy, and the suction works well when applied properly. It’s small, so storage isn’t an issue, but it doesn’t make a huge difference for every bite. I didn’t notice much improvement in sleep quality since some bites still itched afterward, but for a quick, chemical-free option, it’s decent value for the money.

Best invention for bug bites and stings!!!
This was the second one we ordered because the first one worked so well that we decided we needed a second one to travel with! My husband gets bit by yellow flies and use to swell up, but since we started using this, he hasn’t had any issues. It’s so easy to use!! Just place it right over the bite/sting and draw up on the plunger/pulls. We love that it’s small enough to travel with and that it doesn’t look scary or anything for the kids.

This silly little thing actually WORKS
I am a security guard and am often posted outside for 10-12 hours a night. My current post is guarding the outside of a building that has a small parking lot. A wash (desert equivalent of a ravine/river) sits right on the other side of the chainlink fence that follows the perimeter of this parking lot. And it's currently monsoon season so this wash is full of water/muck/tall grasses and all the flying insects that come with still water. (Mostly mosquitos and chiggers) So I'm stuck sitting about 6-20 feet away from it. I also don't have working ac in my truck so I roll the windows down. Needless to say, despite wearing literally THREE different kinds of insect repellant, I still get bit. A LOT. Personally, I don't think this thing actually removes the toxins from your skin. But I think it does do a decent job of bringing the venom/mosquito spit upwards toward the surface of your skin, enough to make the itch subside. Also, the feeling of the surprisingly powerful suction feels SOOOOO GOOD on the itchy bite. Does it work every single time? No. (It does NOT work on chigger bites, unfortunately, but if you look this up you'll discover that chiggers don't bite like gnats, mosquitoes, etc do. So this would make sense) But this thing works well enough for me to carry it with me whenever I go, and to absolutely recommend it to anyone who asks. It's also super easy to clean. I would 100% buy again. Side note: if you watch any of Coyote Peterson's venomous bite videos, you'll see he uses a professional-looking version of this little device. His is much bigger and is made of strong glass, and I'm pretty sure his actually DOES draw the venom all the way out of the skin, but either way when I saw him using it I was so excited. Him using the same sort of technology as this (in my mind) proves that it works. Lol. Update: so this thing DOES have the ability to suck out the venom. Sorry this pic is kind of gross TMI, but I applied heat to this bug bite and then used the bug bite thing 2x and wouldn't you know, there's something being sucked out if the bite here, as you can see in this close-up picture. I am satisfied. Lol.

water can help
For the first two weeks, I got an occasional mosquito bite, and the device helped. I discovered that at the end with the slots, the top will pop off for cleaning. That was good news. Dirt will impair an air plunger. Then I got several bites in 48 hours. When I removed my shoes and socks at night, there was an itchy bump where the shoe tongue had been. I didn't know how I could have been bitten there, but the thinness of the skin made the bump especially prominent. For a couple of minutes, I applied suction more than once. The bump and itch were gone a few minutes later. I found a chigger bite on my ankle where my sock had been. The mite injects saliva and leaves a larva on the skin to feed through a tube. Vaseline is said to smother the larva but won't remove the saliva. I applied suction more than once. The itching and swelling were soon gone, but the site was more visible the next day. It has been years since my last chigger bite. My memory is vague, but I think they were worse without the device. I felt a deer fly bite and swatted. The bite was on the back of my arm about an inch above the elbow. I used a mirror to see the approximate spot and apply suction. I wet the skin to get a better seal. I applied suction for a few seconds several times. A little while later, I couldn't tell I'd been bitten. An itchy little knot appeared on the back of a finger. I switched to the small end to get suction at that location. Again, wetting the skin helped. I applied suction for a few seconds several times. A few minutes later, there was no sign of the bite, only a dark spot from the suction. I got it with wasps in mind. For me, a sting from a local yellow jacket is typically not much worse than a deer fly bite, but some other wasps have worse stings. I feel prepared. UPDATE: It worked nicely on four fire ant stings.

This works pretty only only if.......
UPDATE: So, this thing works better than I originally thought. Timing is everything. If you use it very soon after you've been bitten, then it seems to diminish the effects of the bug bite. But if your skin has basically had a chance to start healing from the puncture of the bug bite, then this thing will make it worse by spreading the irritant around. So, my advice is to never use this device unless you know exactly when you were bitten, and you're able to use it shortly thereafter (how soon? I don't know.. an hour?). If you wake up with a mosquito bite, then you're probably playing with fire if you choose to use this. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really wanted to like it but, it's no good. I held off on writing a review after my first few uses hoping that they were a fluke, but they aren't. I've used this product 3-4 times for at least a half dozen mosquito bites and basically get the same results. I use the product as directed (pull the plunger and hold for 10-20 seconds, then release), and the next day, I get a larger-than-normal bump. Unfortunately, this thing seems to just spread the protein irritant that mosquitos leave behind in their bites, and it doesn't seem to even remove anything significant while doing so. When I've had multiple bites at the same time, I've tried using it on one but not others (to serve as a control). Aside from the negative cosmetic effects, the level of itchiness & time it takes for the bumps to go away is about the same. Also, the suction is strong enough to leave a small hickey behind, so definitely don't use this on your face/head (and, the instructions tell you not to use on your face/neck as well).

This works!
I got totally feasted on when I naively walked in the woods early recently, I had a whole host of painful bites both mosquito and horsefly that were so bad I was having to elevate my legs and keep them on ice! I used antihistimine and all the usual creams etc. Nothing was working, but then I came across this clever gadget and it's been a complete game changer! It is really easy to use and instantly deals with the maddening itching by drawing out the irritant left behind by the biter. Within hours, my legs have finally returned to normal and I am confident that next time I get bitten, I will know exactly what to do! So worth buying, chemical free and will last a long time as it's good quality. I can't believe I haven't come across this in the past. Worth buying!

So many uses!!! Love it!
Used it four times this year alone during the summer season! I have had mine for over a year. It drastically reduce the pain level and the reaction of being stung by a bee, hornet, even mosquito bites! I even bought one for my son this year, who works outdoors as a first responder, and he used it on spider bites. A simple tool and yet so effective!
