Lightning Air LA-2SPX Walnut

This unit has both an ionizer and ozone generator. Each section has its own independent control on the front of the unit. The ionizer does a decent job cleaning up the air, and the ozone system will take care of odors like cigar smoke, in carpets, drapes, furniture, etc. Here's the catch, the ionizer does a good job only if it runs most or all of the time, the ozone section should only be run in an unoccupied space. The issue is that in order to start the ozone generator at say10:00 at night and shut it down at say 4:00 am, you either have to turn it on and off manually or use a lamp timer or some other other kind of automated power outlet. Now, because you are regulating the power to the entire machine the ionizer can only run when the ozone generator is working, negating one of the features of the unit unless you are constantly enabling/disabling the ozone section and reconfiguring the power connection. This sounds like a small thing but it's a pain in the tush to say the least. If the manufacturer would have integrated a control timer with date and time function for the ozone section this constant fiddling could have been completely avoided and the ionizer could run all the time.

So far, after a few months, very pleased. Seems to eliminate odors (cooking, new carpet, fresh paint, fireplace) and a worker even commented on how fresh our home smelled. Living near the beach, our main reason for purchase was reducing/eliminating mildew. Only time will tell in that regard. Very reasonable price for purchase and use.

Nothing really gets rid of cigar smoke while smoking, but this clears out smells later.

All I can say is lightning air works great. Better than any other air purifier we have used.

promise a warrenty for life, had my a few years quit working changed plates still dosn't work, tried to call them never returned my calls buyer beware!!!
