fast and consistent results, re-update, actually is accurate
I have a refractometer tester, but at the levels that I am looking at for a pool it just does not have enough precision. I see it at the 1.002 which comes out the 2650 ppm and this is showing 2480 ppm. But we did have a couple rains since I used the refractometer, so that could account for the variance.re-Update:I now have a chemical test for salinity that is supposed to be much more accurate, I am getting 13*200=2600+/-100 ppm with the chemical test which should be very accurate, while this is registering 2500+/-40. This is so much faster, it seems accurate. My previous inaccurate review was due to human error, I filled the tube to the 12ml level instead of the 10ml level, and thus it took more drops to get the reading. So when I counted 16 drops that was 20% more than the 13 it took with 10ml.

Accurate
Easy to use comes with battery installed. Much better than using the test strips

Review
This tester came with batteries installed which were corroded inside the unit. Fortunately, they provided new batteries with it as well. Works good so far.

Why does salt reading keep decreasing?
So the product seems to work but when I dip in my pool, the PPM reading decreases by 10 PPM every second or so. My salt cell shows good salt so I think the product is accurate. The problem is that it don’t settle on a number. It starts out at let’s say 3400 PPM then decreases by 10 PPM every second or so. Weird.

Came ready to use
It came ready to use and tested well. Batteries were also installed. Nice touch. The device will need to be calibrated at some point and needs a separate solution for that but since came calibrated it was not an issue initially.
