Who this book is for:This is a book for machinists who lack an engineering degree, at least this older version is. A lot of calculations that engineers are supposed to do is already done here.Even engineers, especially Indian engineers will find a lot of practical info in this book that they were never taught in college.Of course all the standard sizes mentioned here are in American standard, but this book contains a lot of basic info that do not go outdated. Even a lot of Americans are still using very old versions of this book with outdated standard sizes.Pros:It is the most comprehensive, famous, and reliable book of its kind. This book is over 100 years old and has always been reliable.Cons:Due to being an American thing, everything here is in Freedom Units.Newer versions have extra CNC info, but I heard that the info isn't very good (31st is the latest as I write). Newer versions also begin with a more elaborate mathematics section that adds integration, matrices, and statistics. Among these, the statistics part is useful to machinists, and the 25th edition already covers it in the machining section, albeit briefly. But non-linear interpolation is missing in all versions. Another thing that all editions lack is carbon fibre related info.

BINDING IS NOT SO GOOD LIKE CONTENTS. I HAVE TO MAKE REBINDING SINCE I FREQUENTLY USE IT. FOR OTHERS WHO USE RARELY- NOT A BIG ISSUE- I USE FROM MY TOOL BOX.

The paper was soo thin, I could not read it, returned it

Invaluable. Some people moan about the pages being thin, they're perfectly fine, infact I would say the paper was chosen well. It's strong & durable, & the book is about 3 inches thick as it is, that's about a thousand sheets per inch, & it's not light as it is.
