This Amazon Basics mic stand has me spoiled. I have spent so much money on mic stands and all of them seem to disappoint. They sag, they lock up, they are poorly built, or they are simply too expensive. Then Amazon comes along and offers this mic stand that addressees every negative I just mentioned. They are well built and hold up after being thrown in trunks or the back of trucks, or dropped on the asphalt. When you set the position, they stay in position. They can withstand the weight of a sandbag as a counterweight, and they are priced competitively. This is my goto mic stand.

Works for its intended use.

Bought this stand for my husband as a basic, affordable option. It does what it's supposed to: holds the microphone securely, the tripod base is stable, and the height adjustment works smoothly. The build feels decent for the price, though ours arrived with a small dent in one of the tubes. Since it didn't affect functionality and we needed it, we kept it. It's lightweight and easy to move around. A no-frills stand that gets the job done – hope it lasts. A good pick if you're on a tight budget and don't need pro-grade durability.

It's hard to get excited about a microphone stand, but this one is really great. And for the price, it's a tremendous bargain. With some of my other (more expensive) stands, the boom keeps slipping at the pivot point. This one doesn't slip at all, I think because it has slight indentations inside the pivoting device (I don't know what you call it.) The stand is very lightweight, but it's also very sturdy. It just seems to be extremely well designed. It doesn't include a microphone clip or holder. Overall, just a great stand and a great bargain.

This I bought as I was looking for a way to do over head shots for photo and videos. Of course I could have bought an expensive heavy over head boom, but that was out of my budget so I bought this to see if it would work. You may ask, did it work? Well depends on what your expectations are. My expectations were to hang a Canon SL2 with a 10-18MM lens for a total weight of about 25oz over a table. It does work up to about 4-5 feet high (as long as one of the 3 legs is pointing in the same direction as the boom, other wise it will definatly fall over without counter weights) and as far out as you can see in the photos in this review. For anything above 4-5ft, you would need to weight the back legs down to offset the hanging weight. Note: In the photos, you will see that I used this adapter that I bought on Amazon to connect the camera: CM01 Video Camera/Digital Recorder Adapter Pros: Build quality good for the price. It met my expectations as decribed above. Easy to transport and store. Cons: Not a heavy stable boom, but you get what you pay for. Works in my situation, but would not for anything much heavier.

I've been using this stand for quite a while now. I've use it for a series of different mics, and for different purposes in videos. I'll start off with one of the most important points. If you have a microphone that is about the weight of the at2020, you're gonna have a bad time without getting some kind of counterweight. Even with the height set at it's lowest, if you need the boom to be extended horizontally even halfway, it starts to tip the stand. You can rotate the base in just the right way where it will work, but for me it's kinda a hassle as I work in a small space where a couch and wall block how I can place and rotate the base of the stand. For lighter mics like a samson c02 or an at875r are light enough where I didn't have any problems at any height or configuration. Also I can see this not being so great if you want to use it for overhead camera. For one, due to the tipping problem mentioned earlier, it will be difficult just to keep it upright. And second, I have a feeling that the friction screw they have for angle adjust wouldn't handle that kind of weight super well.

Great price. Works well and have held up for several years.

yo que lo uso casi todos los días, se me hace súper funcional y practico en cuanto a su movilidad y manera de guardado, aunque me gustaría que incluyera con un poco mas de precio, una clase de estuche pequeño, he de decir que si estoy conforme con esta compra y la haría de nuevo

Ein sehr guter Mikrofonständer, der seinen Zweck einwandfrei erfüllt. Er ist stabil, steht sicher und hält das Mikrofon zuverlässig in Position, ohne zu wackeln oder nachzugeben. Die Verarbeitung wirkt solide und die Einstellung der Höhe und Position funktioniert problemlos. Besonders für den Preis ist die Qualität wirklich überzeugend – hier bekommt man sehr viel für sein Geld. Meiner Meinung nach gibt es in dieser Preisklasse nichts Besseres. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

For the money this is a good stand. It is quite flimsy but does the job better than some expensive stands I've bought.
