The Allegro Microsystems A1324LUA-T is a linear Hall Effect sensor designed for high-performance applications. With a compact SIP-3 case style, it operates efficiently within a wide temperature range and offers a reliable output current of 10mA. This sensor is also RoHS compliant, making it a responsible choice for environmentally conscious projects.

Easy to make a calibrated sensor with this IC.
This Allegro magnetic field sensor has a calibrated sensitivity of 0.005 V/Gauss. With a 5 volt supply, the no-field output is 2.5 V, and the output dynamic range is from a 5 Volts with 500 Gauss S pole under the sensor to zero V with a 500 Gauss N pole under it. Rather than go to the trouble of a digital display, I just added 4 AAA batteries and a 5 V regulator to the IC with contacts for voltmeter probes. With nothing else but a calculator, you have an accurate magnetic field sensor. There are two other versions of this IC that are less sensitive and thus will handle a wider range of magnetic field strengths. This provides an accurate device for measuring magnetic fields -- just a little less convenient, but at less than 1/10th the price.

Simple and effective
This is a great sensor. One pin is power one pin is ground and one pin is your analog and continuous signal readout. Can provide output from as far as a couple inches depending on your magnet strength. This is linear so output signal varies as a function of distance.

Two Stars
This works as a linear very nicely. Much better than other similar devices.
