It has got 2 layer gortex or mesh it also has a breathable netting it's not very waterproof more showerproof I still bought 2 of them I always wear a long waterproof Mac over my Maitland jacket and I stay dry when it rains without Mac heavy rain will soak the jacket I thought this information may be of use if thinking of buying jacket
