good build, pushes air well. The motor has a little whine but for the price, its expected. It drowns out among the other noise in the room. Not too loud unless you turn it up to high

I was skeptical at first. This fan is really small. But it moves some serious air. Very reliable and perfect for the cost. It is small enough to not interfere with my tent lights. Easiest fan I’ve ever installed. It is a little on the noisy side. But it is comparable to my other fans and is not a problem. Great product

I bought this as an extra fan to push air into my grow tent for humidity and temperature. It’s works for my needs. It is a bit loud around 1/2 way turned up but all the way up and 1/4 up it’s fairly quiet. All in all for the size and power I’d buy it again and recommend it to anyone needing additional help controlling temp etc in a grow tent.

I use this to extract heat from a portable A/C unit. I needed a fan with metallic blades due to heat. The heat it is exposed to will warp plastic fan blades. I was worried about the fan motor’s exposure to heat as well. This fan (in my application) is exposed to 145 degree internal duct heat for hours at a time which is right at the end of the motor’s advertised tolerance. It has been working without issues for over two months in Florida weather. I run it for as long as 6 hours straight, as needed. I use this fan to extract exhaust heat from a portable 9000 BTU A/C unit in my garage. This unit may also have use in a hurricane aftermath scenario (as in cooling a tent erected inside the house for sleeping (powered by a gas generator located OUTSIDE), if the power is out for weeks. This fan is hard mounted to a plate which I fabricated which seals the window opening completely. It can be removed from the window in less than 30 seconds. It also locks the window to help avoid entry from outside. I insulated the original flex duct with commercial grade insulation material used for A/C ducts in attics. The portable A/C unit is connected to the insulated duct, and then to this fan assembly at the window plate on the other end. The straight 4 foot duct run has two 45° elbows... this fan creates a vacuum in the duct to draw the heat outside better than the A/C u it could before. These portable A/C units are completely useless unless you facilitate the extraction of the heated air they produce. The uninsulated plastic exhaust ductwork they come with simply transfers all the heat the create right back into the room before it gets outside. It’s so hot in fact, it melts and distorts the window mount that comes with the A/C unit, allowing the heated air to literally blow back into the space you are trying to cool! It would heat and cool the garage simultaneously. Incredibly stupid and costly. To remedy, I insulated the exhaust duct from the A/C unit all the way up the the fan (at the window plate) in order to keep the heat in the duct, and not let it radiate back into the garage airspace. This fan sucks the hot air out. The window/fan mounting plate is made of 3/8 finish grade plywood, and painted with a two part epoxy, as to be waterproof and look nice. The fan is mounted to the plywood with a metal ring I fabricated using rivets, and it seals with a gasket. Control of the fan is manual, via the same power strip that supplies the A/C unit. The sound level is lower than the A/C unit’s noise output. The result: My garage can now reach 78°, with a 50% humidity level on a July day like today. Without the AC, the garage is 85% humidity, and 95°F.

Great exhaust fan for my 4x2 tent!

It moves a good amount of air but I'm here to tell you this thing is loud. I have it installed about 15ft before my bedroom register and it echos badly, no matter what speed it's on. It does it's job well but it's LOUD and the design of the case is stupid. Most ductwork has the crimped end entering the open end of the next tube to prevent leaking, noise and unnecessary turbulence. This has a female receiver on both ends so you have to slather the thing in ductwork sealant and metal-tape to make it leakproof. Just dumb, like the engineers never installed ductwork before. I like the performance, we finally have airflow into our bedroom on the other end of our uninsulated, 80yr old, house, but by golly it's annoying with a specific resonance that goes right through my brain. I'm going to connect a microcontroller to the blower fan in the HVAC that will trigger the duct fan to turn on and off so it's not whining all day long.

Powerful and great for the money. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of other more expensive duct fans, but you don’t need them anyway!

it's meant for different sized pipe than i use... which is 4" thinwall. (like you'd use for drainage outside) it fits neatly inside, entirely, which will make it easy to use when i do figure out how i will and i already plan to buy more. airflow at high speed is outstanding though as noisy as you'd expect making the speed control excellent for dealing with just that. calling it low noise isn't accurate and i'm glad that it isn't

This works excellently as an exhaust ventilation fan. It is powerful enough that it pulls the tent walls in very well, so it definitely moves a good amount of air. It is not terribly quiet, but it is also very powerful, so that is the trade-off. There is no built-in timer, but I used it with a smart outlet when I wanted to give it a break now and then. Recently, I have had it running pretty much nonstop for the last few weeks with no issues. Overall, I would highly recommend it if you need a strong inline duct fan for ventilation.
