Stens 385-288 Speed Feed 450 Trimmer Head

Way easy to load, made in U. S. A. and adds better balance/handling to your Makita trimmer. Includes a handful of adapters to fit a whole bunch of brands of trimmers. Why can’t Makita include this device with their trimmers ?!?

The media could not be loaded.  Not sure if this is normal or not, but it makes strange noises when it speeds up and slows down. My stock Makita head doesn’t make these noises at all.

The stock head on my awesome Stihl weedwhacker came apart sending parts in all directions. This replacement ROCKS!!! It's soooo much better I get a chunky every time I go into the pastures to mow down tall grass and brush. Faster to load, holds thicker string, tougher, love love love it!!!

I've owned my Honda HHT31SLTA Trimmer for at least 25 years. It is a beast!... and all who have used it always comment about how powerful it is. I mention this because this trimmer head REQUIRES lots of power. Mine is a four stroke 1.5 hp according to Honda. Now here is the real story and why I just can't believe I didn't do this sooner. For ALL these years I literally FOUGHT with that original head that came on the unit. Hated fussing with it SO MUCH... that I would just not do the edging. Saw a YouTube video on this and said... I gotta get this!! Installation was TOO simple. Unscrewed the original and this went right on no adapters required although they were included in the package. Couldn't wait for the installed line to wear out so I could try installing my line. Time finally came and it COULDN'T be any easier. What a blessing!! AND... NOT ONE STRING JAM to date... that's on a 2 acre property that I would be previously stopping every 5 to 10 minutes and dis-assembling the original head to unjam the darn thing, Trust me... you're life will be SO MUCH better and you will be just like me. Wondering WHY THE HELL you didn't change to this unit sooner.

I have been procrastinating about getting this for at least 5 years. I am sorry that I waited so long. I learned about this from my neighbor. He told me about the speed feed trimmer head back when I first brought my Stihl. It wasn't until 5 years later, when I finally gotten tired of manually reloading two strings going in opposite directions, only to have to take it apart and try reloading again because the trimmer string gets tightly wedged on the spool causing one or both sides not two expand. This speed feed head trimmers a complete game changer. It take me about 2 to 3 minutes to reload with string and I am right back trimming. Most importantly, I have to reload once and that is it. With my old head, if it was not reloaded properly then I would have all kinds of trouble getting the string to expand. My only complaint about this head is that it seems to scar easily. After just my 1 and 2nd use, the new head looks like it is over 10 years old already. However, it may scar easy and look older than what it really is, it still performs like it did from day one.

This fit my Milwaukee M18 Fuel Quik-Lok with the pre-installed nut. I only needed the black spacer as shown.Installation was as easy as you might expect, I dropped an allen wrench in the hole, turned the old Milwaukee speed feed head until it caught, then loosened by hand. I put the black spacer on and put the new head on. Tightened it up by hand again and I was done. While I was there I flipped the orientation of the string cutter on the Milwaukee's guard to give me another 1"+ of string stickout.As for performance, I've only cut for about half an hour on this head, but it appears to be working quite well. It could be placebo, but it really feels like it's cutting and feeding better than with the stock speed feed head which is a lot smaller. I assume this could be due to more mass. This would likely also mean somewhat quicker battery drain, but I didn't notice a difference yet.I'll post an update after a while if I don't believe this is still five stars. But so far, I'm glad I made the purchase.

the first time I tried to install on my stihl 90 the green adaptor would not screw on the shaft so I decided to send it back but tried once more by starting a little backing off then tighten a little more after about 5 try's it finnaly went on so it will fit I think all or most stihl weed eaters I think the starting thread is a little rough I read other reviews that had the same problem but one review said that he done what I had done I tried that and it worked so keep trying and good luck o take pictures or go on tube and watch very closely will save a lot of time they show all assembly of 400 and 450 is great help

Stens 385-288 Speed Feed 450. This is was what I was looking for my string trimmer. Speed Feed 450 is desing for trimmer with more than 25 cc. Include four female threats( green, red, silver and golden (already installed in the spool head), two male adapters and a plastic spacer require for some trimmers. I own a Lawn business and by far this is the best for trimmer head design in the market. This is the biggest head design by Speed Feed and fits aprox. 20 ft of line.The list of equipment that this head fits is very extensive. Making this item pretty much universal. Fits most of the big brand like Echo, Shindawa, Sthil, Redmax and many others. Watch how to installed and reload the line videos on YouTube, This is the same design of the Speed Feed sold by Echo and Shindawa. Be careful when you order yours, be sure that the one you order be according with the power of your String trimmer (CC's). For my Sthil trimmer I use the green female adapter and plastic spacer.

Et oui fait sur Stilh et va très bien , même acheter juste des capuchons .

one gold adapter missing plus did not fit any of my four stihl trimmers
