This Is Acting is the seventh studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Sia. It was released on 29 January 2016 by Inertia, Monkey Puzzle and RCA. The album is mainly an electropop album with soul influences. The album is composed of songs written by Sia which were rejected by other artists, such as Adele and Rihanna. "Alive", the album's lead single, was released on 24 September 2015. The second single, Cheap Thrills, was released on 11 February 2016. The remix of the track featured guest vocals from Sean Paul. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, who complimented the bold production and Sia’s vocals. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 67, which indicates "generally favorable reviews" However, it received criticisms for the fact that the songs were not very personal and the messages of the songs could be taken in different ways. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, selling 81,000 copies in its first week, becoming Sia's highest first week sales in the USA. Review: EXCELLENT ALbum with more than a few Anthems to get your groove on.. - WOW.. !! Its a lot to ask an artist to even simply equal the success of such an excellent album as 1000 FoF, whagts more amazing is when they do. Opening with "Bird Set Free" and "Alive" ( both she performed on SNL in November ) the album comes out screaming with confidence and her signature voice. But that's just a tip of the iceburg.. she also recently released "One Million Bullets" and "Unstoppable" both which have already become anthems played at full volume in many a gym headset. But Sia saved the best "Move Your Body" and "Footprints" for the album. The former is probably the best dance/gym anthem on the album.. The later, "Footprints" has to be the best trance influenced ballad on the album and I dare say one of her best tracks to date. Where the album falls flat are songs like Reaper ( I blame Kanye West and his heavy handed production, and tried to make the song a Kanye Song not a Sia one.. maybe it was intended for him.. its at best OK ) and "Sweet Designs", while a fun track, also a bit over produced and even feels like it was also written for someone else ( which it was.. as we know ). The only two tracks that totally rate less than 3 stars atre #10 and #12.. Broken Glass & Space Between, which again aren't bad.. just bland. So some songs were definitely Sia, and those shine thru and in my opinion are superior to the tracks on 1000 FoF. Overall a SOLID SOLID 5 star album with tracks rating a 6 on an 1 to 5 scale, ( Unstoppable, 1 Million Bullets, Foot Prints ), a few 5 star in Birds Set Free, Alive, Move Your Body, but not a bad track in the bunch. Just a few that fall flat, and that maybe partly due to the fact they were written for others. Review: The best album yet! - She's simply the best - she could sing the phone book and it would sound amazing! I saw her in concert recently and her songs are incredibly moving, sung with a true passion that so few singers possess anymore. I've been listening to her since her "Titanium" days and I love how frequently she's putting out new music and collaborations with other artists, as well as how she's evolving. She's definitely getting better with every album, and this one is chock full of anthems and feel-good songs (as compared to her previous ones). The perfect album for anyone who needs a boost and definitely my favorite one yet! I would recommend starting with this album first if you're new to Sia's music. If you like what you hear on this one, then buy her previous album, 1000 Forms of Fear. The music on that one is a little more all over the place and may be a tad difficult to appreciate at first if you've never listened to her before.

Another excellent album of personalized music from Sia
Another excellent album of personalized music from Sia. It ranges much like 1000 Forms of Fear and clearly shows her diversity, power, range and imagination as did her previous album. I appreciate the effort in this album as well as 1000 FOF for their exposure to the artist via inner struggles and fears that the listener is given a glimps of. Unlike so much music produced in the current time, this album feels like an "opening up" to me. Some songs evoke a raw emotion in me while others tell a story of her experiences. In my opinion, Sia's voice is unmatched in today's cookie cutter music industry. There is a strong sense of "self" and "individuality" that those who appreciate music can clearly hear and appreciate. I find that her music reaches my soul on many different levels in an unspoken number of her songs from early on in her careet till today and they evoke powerful memories and emotions. In conclusion, than you Sia for sharing yourself with the people. I truly believe we are better for it. A Fan.

Amazing Voice but the music is Different
I am a recent Sia fan. The one and only CD I owned prior to this was 1000 points of Fear. This is Acting is VERY different. The first three songs are classic Sia, and I love them. The rest of the CD is composed of music characteristic of other artists. One of the songs on the CD sounds like something Lady Ga Ga would perform. It is my understanding Sia writes music for many other artists, and this could explain the very different sound on this CD. What I can appreciate is the absolute versatility and range of this amazing voice. I'm not sure I'm ready to enjoy this style of music from Sia, but the CD is slowly growing on me as I listen to it over and over. I still love 1000 points of Fear better. I think true Sia fans will be a little surprised by what they hear, but like me they will be amazed as to what she can do with her voice.

This Should Win Pop Vocal Album For 2017
I'm disappointed in this album—disappointed that it wasn't nominated for more Grammys. This is my second Sia album, and the music is as good, if not *better* than her previous 1000 Forms Of Fear . My three personal favorites: Track 1, "Bird Set Free" Track 2, "Alive" (should've been track 1) Track 6, "Cheap Thrills" Three hits are my requirement for an album purchase, and these are three great songs. There are other choice selections throughout the album as well, and which ones speak to you will differ from those that speak to me. Also included are digital versions tied to your Amazon Music library. This album has been nominated for the following two 2017 Grammy Awards: • Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, "Cheap Thrills" • Best Pop Vocal Album, "This Is Acting" (this album) If you love quality Pop music, or if you love Sia, then get this album. Recommended.

Absolutely perfect!
I have been a fan of Sia's for over ten years now and love everything she has touched, This Is Acting is no different! Most of the tracks were written for other artists, so they may not feel 100% like Sia's usual music. I love every song on this album, which is not something that happens often with any other artist. Several of the songs brought me to tears, others made me want to dance. Every song makes me feel something and leaves me very fulfilled. Don't pay attention to the critics, they have got it all wrong. This is Sia's experiment come to life and it is not a follow-up to 1000 Forms Of Fear, hopefully that will follow soon! This is a must have Sia album!

Sia's pop is not sausage-factory pop
Combining clever lyrics with one of the best voices in the industry, Sia has produced an eclectic album which is worth a good listening to.

Sia – This Is Acting (Vinyl), powerful vocals and emotional depth
The pressing quality is solid: the sound is clean with no noticeable noise (at least on my copy), the bass is rich, and Sia’s vocals come through incredibly clear and emotional. The cover art is also a highlight — the iconic black-and-white wig look is stylish and instantly recognizable. Listening to this album on vinyl really enhances the experience, giving more depth and warmth compared to digital streaming.

Deluxe Edition imperdibile!
L ordine amazon è arrivato secondo i tempi previsti, senza alcuna imperfezione o danneggiamento.
