Best little mighty knife!
Loved this little guy. Handle is thick and fits into the palm very well. Blade is small and sharp. I needed a small knife like this for working with hand peeling and trimming fruits and vegetables.

Great knife- great deal
This Mercer beak-nose knife has a wonderfully fat handle that makes it real easy to grip for such a small knife. Like every Mercer I've had, the steel is a steal. You just won't find this quality of high carbon steel on other knives in this price range. Many chefs highly recommend the Mercer Chef's knife.

>> 2.5" blade PEELING KNIFE
PROS -- Sharp, cuts wellCONS -- The no-slip design of the handle is a great idea, but it doesn't work properly because most folks cannot grip the handle as designed.PEELING AWAY FROM YOU -- The handle is a good design for peeling potatoes, carrots, etc. with the blade facing away from you (if you prefer to peel things that way), but for such chores, a potato peeler almost always works better. However, the front curve (guard) and rear hook, are a bit aggressive (they take up too much of the handle) -- my smallish-man-fingers don't quite fit.PEELING TOWARD YOU (e.g., for peeling oranges or apples) -- The handle is very poorly designed for holding the knife this way. My smallish-man-hands can wrap around the entire knife (including the curve and hook guards), even though the curves and hooks guards are in the wrong place. I'm tempted to reshape the handle with my grinder --- if I was s sous chef sentenced to peel fruit all day, I almost certainly would take a grinder to the knife handle (or purchase a better-designed peeling knife).

Sharp and curved just right.
I use these for all of my coring and scoring tomatoes while canning.

Bird beak=best steak knife
Well made for the price. The short curved blade is great for precision control. Only the point drags across the plate or skillet, so the blade stays sharp. I'll never go back to conventional steak knifes that put the blade belly in contact with the cast iron pan or plate. Dull the point on a stone to prevent gouging pans.

Utility curved knife
The knife is okay, works well on apples and other curved fruit, not very sharp, requiring sharpening immediately.

Good enough quality
For this price, this quality isn’t too bad. Gets the job done.
