Recently purchased this to store some home networking equipment and a security camera NVR for a family member. Was very suprised to find the enclosure pre-assembled on arrival. Before deploying, I reviewed the multiple configuration options available (reversible door, movable railing) and continued to be impressed with this quality Tripp Lite product. Comes with a mounting bracket that makes the mounting process very easy. It serves its purpose well and provides plenty of space for this project. Will be purchasing another for myself. See the bottom of this review to find the items I paired with this rack. Exceptional! I am pleasantly surprised with the build quality of the Tripp Lite 6U wall mount. There is nothing cheap about it. The fit and finish is grade A. In the past I have encountered corner cutting with similar products, such as rough metal edging or poorly threaded screw holes. Not with this unit, everthing was precisely tooled and engineered, which speaks volumes about quality control. It was very easy to securely mount to studs, looks very professional and tidy. Air flow is no issue and the placement of the underside and above plates make it easy to work with, in addition to the front and side doors. Used to house a 24 port switch, patch panel, ups, and a light duty server, this box make sfor a clean server closet.

Sweet cabinet, not a lot of coin. This seems to focus on networking equipment level installs and NOT for server rack mounts. Hardware: I could not find this answer anywhere, it did come with rack screws for both direct mount and screws/cage nuts, however, there was not enough hardware for either option if one was to use every U slot and every hole. -Minus 1 star I had to order RackGold 12/24 screws (50 pack) but that is extra cost. Oh well. The unit is nice no doubt and would not stop me from ordering again. There is NO mounting hardware nor I did not expect any. After fully loaded, I would not trust questionable/soft chinese bolts to hold this up anyways. I grabbed some 3/8 2" bolts with washers and lock nuts from hardware store for mounting to my custom made MDF backer board. I did create a joist hanger made out of two 2x3 lumber and 3/4 thick MDF for the backing board (see pic). I opted for this route instead of drilling into concrete. You will definitely need to consider what you will be mounting this to. My joist hanger mount worked perfectly and looks nice. I will post pics as my project develops.

This rack is solid; I really like it. It's not at all flimsy, and holds all our switches and patch panels like a champ. It's got side doors that make access easier, as well as ingress plates on both the top and the bottom, so cable bundles can move where needed. For what it is, it is excellent and I have no complaints whatsoever. In practice, however, I ran into a few snags. First, it's amazing how quickly 6U can go. I needed 5U when I started, but one extra is not enough; I should have gotten an 8, but that's my fault. The bigger warning is that 16.5" depth really isn't enough if you're using managed switches. I tried putting a Cisco 3750E in here, and it was about an inch too long, even with the front mounting rails moved all the way up. I replaced it with a Dell 6224, which technically fits, but I had to get a right angle power adapter, and even then it just barely fit. I gave the rack five stars because the issues I ran into were clearly a lack of planning, but I thought I would post this warning that a 20" deep rack is probably a better investment if you're not absolutely certain of the dimensions of all the equipment going into this rack before it is purchased. I bought this to hold all of my networking gear in my new house and It is perfect for it. For the price the build quality is better than I expected. Its sturdy and fairly secure, wall mount this and no one will be able to tamper with your equipment easily. Has room above and below the first and last U as well as room on the sides. This is perfect for managing cables. This will not fit the vast majority of servers, so don't buy this as a cheap server rack. They have a deeper unit that you could fit some servers into but this is shallow and looks like it will only fit multimedia and networking gear. The next house I buy I will probably purchase another one to place all of the networking equipment in.

Bought this to consolidate all of my network equipment in a single, nice looking location. The rack comes completely assembled with the ability to move the mounting rails fore and aft based on the depth of your equipment. I was able to fit a Cisco 3750G PoE switch, a Cisco 5506, a Monoprice keystone patch panel and a Cyber Power PDU with two 2Us left. It came with all of the items I needed to mount these four pieces of equipment (assuming you use two screws per device). The rack came with a removable mounting bracket that you screw to two studs. This arrangement allows the rack to be mounted in two different offsets. Having this bracket allows a single person to be able to mount this without needing three arms. If needed, you can mount up to four 120mm fans (you supply the power). It also has two 10"x2" openings (one on the top and one on the bottom). The rack can be mounted upside down if you like as it symmetrical. The door can hinge from the left or the right depending on your needs. To keep the install super clean, I finished it off with Monoprice 6" no-boot patch cables. Forget all of that extra cable that everyone seems to love. Considering the quality and price, you can't miss with this handy little rack.

This rack is well built. However, don't expect to fully populate it with the included hardware. They only include 12 cage nuts. Would it be very difficult to include 6 or 10 more cage nuts? Mine came with 40 screws which was apparently a mistake. Support said it was supposed to come with 12 screws, 12 plastic washers, 12 cage nuts. They were going to ship me a replacement bag of hardware until the support representative confirmed that 12 cage screws was the correct number. How can this be when i have 40 screws? Well that was a mistake. 10 washers? Pound sand. Expect to drop about 27 bux on a 50 piece cage nut set when you only need a few more pieces of hardware. Maybe it was the rep I got but I was not happy with the support I received. *UPDATE* After going back and forth via email for months they ending up shipping me a new kit full of hardware after it came off back order. Hopefully my experience is the exception and not the rule because otherwise it's a fantastic rack. Increased my review by 1 star.

I have a small home studio for internet broadcast radio. This rack is amazing. I love it. I only have a few pieces of hardware to be mounted and before purchasing this unit. I had them on tables, stacked up with cords running everywhere. The rack comes with the mounting hardware I needed--basically just nuts and bolts. None of the equipment I have required any kind of trays for support. Even though this rack is able to be mounted on a wall. I have mine sitting on the floor under the table where I have my mixer and some other equipment. It's great to have the cables all together and neat. One thing, make sure you have some kind of labeling system so that you can tell which cables belong to which piece of equipment. Once the cables go into the rack, it'll be hard to remember which ones are which. The quality of this rack is very high and it's a classy looking unit. When I have the need, I'll purchase another Tripp Lite rack. I would recommend this particular rack to anyone. It's outstanding.
