ACR C-Strobe H2On

The ACR C-Strobe H20 Emergency Signaling Strobe and it has become a vital part of my safety gear. This product is an absolute must-have for anyone who values safety and peace of mind during outdoor activities. What I appreciate most about the C-Strobe is its user-friendly design. It is water activated! It’s incredibly easy to use, which is crucial in emergency situations. The activation process is automatic and manual activation is simply a push of a button. I haven't thrown myself off a boat in a storm to see if this helped my crew find me, so it's hard to be really confident (that's the nature of safety/security products, of course--you never know whether they're good or bad until or unless you have to try them for real!) That said, good things: - it's pretty compact - it feels robust - it lights up instantly when I put it in the bath - it's pretty bright (not xenon strobe bright, but good bright LED) - it has flashing and continuous modes you can choose - it stays on after triggering until manually turned off (wouldn't want it to shut off if my head and it are above water, after all!) Caught me by surprise: - it doesn't float (well, it's supposed to be attached to your PFD, so it shouldn't need to, but I still thought it might - although it has about three different mounting mechanisms (it has a clip to attach to the oral-inflation tube of a PFD, along with a velcro band, and a kind of belt-clip arrangement in the plastic housing) there's no obvious way to attach it to my auto-inflatable PFD. That's as much an issue with the PFD as with anything else (I'm still not sure how to attach a whistle, but at least that would be OK on the belt underwater! Clearly this needs to be above water). Generally very happy with this, particularly for the price. If I were an ocean racer, I'd want more, but I'm not :)

It's easy to set this off accidentally when kayak fishing due to spray from the paddle, fly line, and splashing fish, but it appears to be a nicely built unit that should operate reliably for many years. Not terribly visible during the day, but my bright yellow PFD has that covered.

Love having this strobe light mounted on my life vest while sailing, especially during overnight passages. This gives my comfort knowing it could help someone find me in the night should I fall overboard.

Works great and gives me great peace of mind when out on the water. I am a commercial tour captain and am on the water almost every day. Only down side is that the light does go off when it gets wet (which i know thats what i ordered) but i should have got just the push button because it does go off by itself from time to time in rain and waves. I also use this as an all around white light when kayaking. Has been very water resistant, batteries last all night, and easy to strap to the molly on my bag.

Works as advertised. Note that is not a strobe. It is a light.

The automic activation when it touches water performed perfectly. The included lanyard makes it easy to secure to your lifejacket. It could stand to be a little brighter. Not all that visible in the daytime, but it's perfect if your main concern is dusk/night paddling. Allows you to have a blinking light, full light, or S.O.S. signal. Hard to beat the price for what it is. Absolutely an essential piece of gear for any kayaker. Especially if you go out on big lakes with lots of boats.

Fonctionnement impeccable. S'allume automatiquement au contact de l' eau. Format pratique. S'attache facilement au gilet de sauvetage. Luminosité ok.
