CocoonCLB3650CH TECH 16" Brief with Built-in Grid-IT!® Accessory Organizer (Charcoal)

Cocoon, you guys have some awesome looking ("looking" being the operative word here) products.See my problems highlighted below and my images are in the order of what is covered below. In short I would never recommend this bag or really any Cocoon products after seeing the backpack's problems and then dropping $60 on this only to have the below happen. I build a case for myself to not buy this yet I did, it's explained below and I regret this purchase.The Grid-IT system is fantastic but only when the bag around the selling point has some actual quality control and is up to the same standard. Charge more if needed to get a higher quality product to the consumer but for this price, consistency is to be expected with this material...it isn't a leather bag where $60 and some slight problems would make sense. For what this is I feel like I paid $60 for a $20 bag and got screwed over honestly.Problems:- I expect the zippers to at least be sewn on evenly at this price point ($60) for this material.(the central pocket's zipper is not sewn properly, please see my attached images for specifics. In short, there is actually a section where the alignment of the zipper is so far off that part of the zipper's backing is simply not attached. I can easily fit a standard Bic pen through the hole it leaves. While the stitching seems strong enough this hole will definitely come undone as it's a weak point now and frankly shouldn't exist. It's like the sewing machine was off of alignment halfway through attaching the zipper and not corrected. This isn't some $25 bag from Walmart Cocoon)- $60 and the stitching of a pocket is literally attached to the inner lining PAST the padding on a corner leaving an indentation that can never be fixed as part of the inner lining got caught up in the exterior stitching.What I like:- The Grid-IT system is, convenient. If I seem a little less enthusiastic about it let's just say the problems above kind of killed most of that enthusiasm. Can't really get excited about one pocket of a bag with the other storage ares are either weak points waiting to tear or deformed due to shoddy stitching. It does what you see in the pictures. It's the only part of the bag that was entirely consistent with images seen on the marketing.- Handles are okay, they have a reinforcement that also, surprise surprise has stitching that runs past the reinforcement over the handle strap and into the handle install creating a permanent fold/crease on one of them.- Strap hooks are made of metal. I won't ever use it but it seems decent.- Padding is decent, little better than the Amazon Basics 16" bag.Curt "what I like" section isn't it. Dropping $60 on this bag only to have the above experience (after seeing the backpack rife with issues) has pretty much turned me off from Cocoon products. Should I have bought this after seeing the backpack problems? Perhaps not but I took a shot for the Grid-IT system and received a partial loss. I don't recommend this bag. I don't recommend any Cocoon products other than the standalone Grid-IT...slabs? Take the $60 and get yourself another higher quality bag to simply stick a standalone Grid-IT into.Will I be returning this? Probably (I doubt it given the COVID situation, too much hassle). Do I expect to be contacted by Cocoon, maybe but if this is the quality of their product I don't expect a replacement to be properly stitched and even if I got a replacement that was, it doesn't mean your bag won't have these issues.$60 is a decent chunk of money for a non-leather bag for a lot of people. You have this awesome selling point of these products, make it worth the money so it can be recommended confidently.

I bought this as a gift for my husband to keep his music gear in, such as cables, cords, and microphones. He loves it! The GRID-IT front pocket is so unique and that's the main reason I chose this over the other briefcases I looked at. He's able to keep everything in place without it moving around, getting scratched, or breaking against other items. I also love the minimalist style of the briefcase; it looks great and is comfortable to carry. It also has a ton of room inside. Overall, it was perfect for our needs and I would definitely buy it again if he ever needs a second case.

Wonderful product. Very satisfied

I searched for hours for the "perfect" laptop case and was beyond excited when I found this one. I wanted something spacious and durable...and cheap, but I decided it would be worth it to pay a little more for something like this. The case itself is wonderful! I can comfortably fit my HP Stream 13" laptop, charging block, external disk drive, book, and notebook in the main compartment. I love the GRID-IT system in the front as well. Also, it is true to color- or is to my eyes, anyway. There were a few loose ends of thread on the zipper pulls when I received it, but that's really the only negative.The four-star review is for the fact that it took Amazon *two months* to ship this to me. After I contacted customer service, they handled it promptly and did give me a percentage back. However, two months is still a long time for a laptop to remain without a case.So, I would absolutely recommend the case itself! I just might buy it from the supplier.
