This review is for the 3B MEDICAL Portable Lumin Wand - Compact UVC Sanitizer UV Light for Travel, Ultraviolet Disinfecting Lamp for Sanitizing Mobile Phone Toy Toothbrush CarThe first one I received would not work or turn on. I thought it might be me, so I contacted maker. 3b was non responsive. Amazon customer service on the other hand came through with a new one that worked, yay.This feels substantial in your hand. Its heavy and feels like a real tool. Has a cool safety feature that keeps idiots from looking into the light. Must be close to object and horizontal.All in all this works like a charm. And if your bacteria grew two legs and jumped you; you could easily beat them away with this chunk of tech like a club.

The unit itself is good but it is not very versatile the auto shutoff turns the light off if you don't hold it at the proper angle, so there is a lot a things you can not clean. Also it lacks a travel case to protect it from damage while traveling. The worst part of the whole package is the so called support. I had a few questions that I did not find in the manual. I called support and had to wait for a call back (appox. 2 hours) When I did get to talk to someone they sounded like they were board to death being at work, for my questions they told me they did not have a manual and could not answer my questions. I told them the answer were not in the manual that is why I called. Support response was if you don't like it return it I hung up the phone now I will be taking support advice and return it

This was the 3rd Lumen product I purchased. The first product was a CPAP Sanitizer. This is a reliable and good system. However, it ends there! I purchased the CPAP Tubing sanitizer cylinder. and it was terrible! It was not a consistent sanitizer as the tubing was pulled through the sanitizer cylinder. The most recent purchase as of a few days ago. The newly released sanitizing wand was charged per the instructions and the light kept going on and off and did nothing until I finally concluded it needed to go back. I called Lumen customer service and received no support to make it right. I was told that since I bought it on Amazon the customer service agent told me there was nothing she could do for me.Bad product, no support and avoid purchasing because you will receive no support.

The Lumin Wand I purchased worked fine for a short period of time. I went to use it a few months later and it would not turn on. It was charged according to its manual but will not turn on. I’m disappointed in this product as the other Lumin products I own continue to work fine. It would be appreciated if Lumin replace this Wand as I am a first responder and use it to sanitize my personal items.

I used this wand to clean my CPAP equipment. It was easy to use and I feel so much better about my equipment.

I think it is a great product but it doesn’t work

Which is actually needed, as so may UVC lights on the market do not have any safety features at all. I do appreciate that this unit turns off immediately when moved or turned at any angle other than dead level - keeps people from damaging their eyes (or anyone's eye who maybe near by). However the sensor is way to touchy and this device turns off over and over as you slowly move it across an item. It has to re-power up the lamp, starts with the orange light that turns blue when the lamp is ready once again. So this unit is nearly impossible to use. You also have to hold this 1/2 inch away from the item us wish to sanitize, and hold it in one spot 5 seconds before moving on. It does not work well on anything but very flat items as shaped items trigger the safety sensor making it think you are moving it away, turning it or going too fast and it shuts off. I couldn't even get my 6" phone sanitized without this turning off 6 times!I have issue with this being described and cleaning - it cleans nothing, only kills germs, but doesn't remove them. And even the product video doesn't show proper speed of use, shows it being waved quickly over and past items and that is not the proper way to use it - very, very slow, averaging 5 seconds per area is correct (the end of the video they do slow down and lower the unit closer to items).Very impressive quality, as far as looks, feel and packaging go. It's boxed very well and the box works excellent for a storage case. The wand is heavy, but that is due to it's large battery and does not denote quality - just a big battery that is heavy. This have an actual lamp and not tiny LED lights, which I actually prefer the lamp over LED's. The wand does feel balanced in your hand, and has a cushioned hand grip which helps you hold on to it for long periods - and it will take a long time to sanitize even the smallest items. For the money - I'll keep using disinfecting wipes and washing surfaces, both of which are faster to perform and probably more effective.

3B Medical certainly went all out on the presentation. This is like a next level corporate gift display. Unfortunately, the Lumin Wand has difficulty scanning round or odd shaped items. There is a sensor that shuts off if the wand is too far from an object. However, it doesn’t take misshapen things, or more importantly, depth, into consideration. I tried to sanitize my office phone and whenever I got close to the handle, the wand would shut off. I couldn’t even hover over it, horizontally or vertically, because the sensor itself was past the point of where the phone handle starts. If you’re only sanitizing flat surfaces, then it works fine. But I had to cover the sensor with electrical tape so I could scan multilevel items.Presumedly, due to the rechargeable battery’s capacity, the weight of this thing is quite heavy. 1.3 pounds might not seem like much, but if you’ve got limited hand mobility, that weight quickly becomes tiring. Also, there’s no battery level indicator which would have been helpful. UV shades are shown in the manual and would have been a nice touch as well, but they aren’t included. While I applaud the lux package concept, the sanitizer design could use a redo.
