Can you put a bathtub on top of these?

You can put a bathtub on the actual tile. The end trim slopes down a bit so it is best to put the tub on the flat tile and leave the trim uncovered

Can the backing be removed?

Backing is what gives the tiles it's shape. It is attached to the teak wood planks with screws, but you can remove the screws and separate the backing and use teak wood for other projects

I plan to install it in my backyard (dirt/soil), is is ok to level the dirt and installed on top of it? Is it better to put sand first?

For me it was really difficult to get the ground to be even and sturdy enough to lay the tiles on it. I ended up putting down treated plywood and putting the tiles on top of that

Bb Does the other side of the end piece have pins ? So one could connect another end piece if needed?

End Pieces only have 1 connecting side and slope down on the other side. They are available with either PIN or LOOP connectors.
