Product Description Widely regocnized for single-handedly bringing two forgotten genres of music back to the popular forefront, is shifting gears once again... Featuring 14 brand new hot rod songs and makeout tunes. Track listing includes "Ignition," "Hell Bent," "Hot Rod Girl," "8-Track," plus lots more. .com Brian Setzer is not what you'd call a forward-looking guy. For this veteran guitarist and vocalist, the question is how far back he directs his attention. After having spent a major chunk of the '90s delving into the jump-blues and swing of the '40s and early '50s, Setzer returns to the revved-up rockabilly that first earned him a following when he fronted the Stray Cats in the early '80s. Originality has never been Setzer's forte and here the inclination to borrow extends to his songwriting: "5 Years, 4 Months, 3 Days" lifts generously from Dave Dudley's trucker anthem "Six Days on the Road" and Heart fans will recognize the riff that ushers in "Hell Bent." Still, Setzer is ideally suited as a player and singer to stand-in for rockabilly pioneers Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran, which he proves here with the high-energy likes of the title track, "Hot Rod Girl," and, especially, the punky album highlight, "Get 'Em on the Ropes." "I guess I'm behind the times," he sings in "'59." With each album, Setzer confirms that's where he belongs. --Steven Stolder

Glad I purchased…
Glad I purchased….As a long time Fan I am always impressed with the way Brian Setzer creates new guitar solos and of course the songs on this really do rock with his most recent line-up. And he always "delivers" on the ballads as well. I never really followed this type of musicbut Brian has a magnetism that keeps my interest. He's like a "reincarnation of all the Greats" from that Great and exciting era. (Ok, enoughHero worship…for now).

The fans have been waiting for this one!
After several years and 4 albums with the orchestra, Mr. Sezter whips up a rousing batch of goodies with a Stray Cats style band. These guys jam their way through this CD with familiar sounding, but all new material. The songs are great fun and my kids and I dance around and sing along to the whole CD. The energy level is high, the lyrics are clever, and best of all Brian Setzer has a whale of a time blazing out one awesome riff after another. This is a must-have for guitar enthusiasts. My favorite songs were the punked-out Get 'em on the Ropes, and the scorching opener, Ignition. But they're all good. Brian Setzer is clearly at the top of his game. Love the cover art too! Get it!

Setzer, The King of Rock a Billy!
Who else but Setzer could go back to his Rock a Billy roots and pull out some of the best music ever heard. Brian goes back to his 3 man band and pulls out great tunes like Ignition, 5 years, 4 months, 3 days, and Rooster Rock. I have been a Setzer fan since the Stray Cats and once again Brian Setzer prooves he is the King of Rock a Billy!

Brian Setzer, Ignition
Numerous great Rockabilly cuts all across this CD! Brian brings home the bacon. A little more meat on the bone would have been superlative, but who's getting overly picky. Not me!
