Works to hold light objects
I use these to tether small objects to the kayak in case it flips. Secondary carabiners were attached to the other end to make it easier to connect the tether. The plastic coil is the weak point and I would not use it to hold anything valuable or heavier than 5lbs. Great budget tether coil though. I use them to tether my fishing rods to some padeyes, in conjunction with some velcro cable ties wrapped around the handle.
