PLEASE READ THIS ABOUT THE TEXTURE. MOST CRITICAL COMMENTS GET IT WRONG.
This pad is nicely made, a good value, and I love the size. It is larger than it needs to be, and that's what I wanted. I'm commenting on the 9-1/16" diameter (my measurement) "Silver", which is mill finish aluminum. It's my preference for longevity in its good looks because anodized finishes will eventually show wear with heavy use. It will look great on any desk; I am buying several more of these to use at my other workstations and to travel with. It's good to keep on your desk, and move to chair and sofa arms to enable that use.It has a good adhesive to hold the rubber backing on the aluminum without being too aggressive. As the adhesive dries out and the rubber comes loose as some have said, you could remove the rubber pad, wash and air dry it and apply more adhesive. I would use 3M or other fabric adhesive. As an engineer who is familiar with metals and machine design, I'm curious about the observations of people who are put off by the texture of this pad. It has been blasted with a light abrasive to give it the texture that many want but purchase it with confidence if you don't mind doing a little "tune-up" with the desired amount of texture. It came with a little more "chalkboard" texture than I like, but getting the amount of texture you want is quite easy.I don't like the texture or sharp edges of many items like laptops and I file the sharp edges to make them feel much more friendly and easier on your hands. You need practice and experience to do that well. I finish up by using a 3M Scotch-Brite pad with water and dish detergent to scrub the edges I filed. It's a great solution for aluminum finishes that are too sharp or abrasive on the edges. For this mousepad, use a Scotch-Brite pad that has been initially broken in by scrubbing a few pots so it's not too abrasive. Put the pad on a level surface such as a large cutting board. With warm water and dish detergent applied to the scrub pad, use circular motion scrubbing the mouse pad over its entire area with a good amount of pressure. You should see the dark gray aluminum oxide being removed as it removes and smooths the top level of the rough texture. Be sure to scrub the perimeter to reduce its sharpness. After you wash and dry the mousepad, you will be amazed at how much it improves the finish to make it very pleasing to touch. I use the Logitech Pebble Mouse, a simple blue tooth mouse that is easy on hands, moves smoothly with large slide pads under it, and works well with almost any surface. This mouse pad works exceptionally well with that mouse, but I tried it with a few others I have, and it improved all of them.I read that some were annoyed that the aluminum oxide was getting on their hands and clothes. The new product that you receive will tend to do that at first until it is broken it. Doing the process I described with the scrub pad will fix that issue and you'll be very happy with the results.A desktop takes a lot of abuse from the mouse, and a pad like this one will totally prevent that damage. It also makes the mouse work better, especially when you have to use extra pressure like the middle-click function combined with drag like I use in CAD applications. Using it for that function reduces the high friction that the pressure usually provides. I'm very satisfied with how this pad makes my use of the mouse easier. I'm 77 and have some arthritis in my hands, so it makes my life a little easier.Hope my comments are a help to everyone.

Great quality mouse pad
Great mouse pad. Better than the standard ones. It stays put and your mouse doesn’t slip around it.

Looks Great, Works Great
Sleek, high-quality mouse pad. Good size, works without any issues. The bottom holds the mouse pad firmly in place. This mouse pad is especially useful with a laptop that gets moved around frequently; in and out of a bag and set up in various locations. It is not pliable, which allows you to use it even when sitting on a couch or in bed. It is also durable; after much use it is still in perfect condition. If something spills on it, it is easy to clean. Looks great, works great.

Great for portable hard mousepad
Great price, small, easy to transport without worry of it being ruined or breaking. I use it on uneven surfaces like a bed and that fixes my mouse issues. Mice will roll off of it however, but it is small enough to manage that.

Ice-skate-like gliding, but make sure that's what you want. Visually elegant.
Exactly what I wanted: the smoothest possible surface for my mouse. I’ve been using a wooden slab for a mousepad cuz it works better than any mouse pad I’d ever had because it’s so smooth, not like rubber. So I finally figured perhaps someone has made a mousepad like that, and this one does the trick. A simple wooden slab is cheaper, of course, but this very slick and elegant, good for a business place, and has a good rubber bottom that keeps the mousepad in place. Before buying, make sure that you want a very smooth, fast, gliding mousepad. It may slide too quickly for some people.Note that there's a rectangular and round versions. Think about which you want for your setup.

Could be bigger
Like the effortless movement of laser mouse on surface. Just wish it were about 2 inches larger all around.

it’s metal, not good for apple mouse
The product itself is great but when I use my apple mouse on it. The mouse material is same as this & the sound it makes or the feeling of the same material against each other is not nice.Product quality is amazing though & it looks really cool. Perfect size, thick, easy to use & clean.

most accurate, fastest responding mouse pad I've used
I've been an IT professional over 25 years, and so far this is hands down the best tracking mouse pad I've ever used. I've had/used this 9 hrs/day, 5+ days/week, for a couple months as of this writing. In that time it's shown no signs of wear (or even use for that matter). My mouse glides effortlessly across its surface, never snagging, thus my mouse pointer goes exactly where I want. So nice.
