Does the job
This bag is inexpensive, lightweight and does the job. We travel on small motorboats across the gnarly Hawaiian interisland channels and the bag kept our stuff dry, no problem. I suspect that if we'd dropped it in the ocean, it wouldn't have still been dry. But for getting splashed occasionally, works just fine.

Great, as long as it doesn't get soaked
Have had several of these bags for 7 years now. One of the snap clips ripped off but otherwise they have been durable. Mostly I have used them on extended bicycle trips, inside a pannier bag for extra sleeping bag protection etc. Fortunately I have never had to ride in a downpour, even going across the USA twice, because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't keep critical stuff dry. You can put your hand inside one, stick it under a faucet, and within 10 seconds the bag material AND your hand will be damp. Next time I will only travel with better bags, which are only slightly heavier anyway.

Great as backpack liner
I got this as a liner for my 50L backpack. It fits perfectly into the 12" diameter main compartment and weighs only 3.2 oz. I put anything that needs to stay dry inside of it, and any liquids, fuel, etc. remain outside of it. If my backpack were to get wet or my water bladder, etc. leaked, the dry bag would protect all my gear. It also makes it very easy to remove everything from my bag at once, rummage through this bag to find it, and then drop it back into the backpack when I am done. The other thing I use this for is as a bear bag when hanging my gear at night. It seems reasonably durable for the weight, though not nearly as thick/heavy as the PVC dry bags I would bring in my kayak.

This bag is great for keeping things dry in a rain storm
This bag is great for keeping things dry in a rain storm, but not if the bag is submerged. I used it to keep my clothes and sleeping bag dry on a recent camping trip. It performed great, even in driving rain. The only problem I had with this bag is when you are filling in, you must leave enough space at the top to close and fold the top. This takes away a few liters of storage. For a light duty dry bag, it is well worth the money.

Fitting
for years I've used trash compactor bags as my backpack liner for long treks. Those are getting harder & harder to find. This 55L fits perfectly in my primary & secondary packs. It was priced perfectly, I got it fast and it's better than the trash bags! I liked it so much I got the 25L too.

Thin matetial
I’m not sure how one would use this dry bag. Holes easily wore through the thin material and the contents were not dry!

lightweight and well sealed
this is a lightweight bag that takes almost no space when empty (what I wanted). It is not a rugged back that will withstand abrasion and abuse. When sealed (typical roll seal) it hold air well when squeezed, so it will keep water out.

I doubt 30”x12” really translates to 55 liters?…??
Really doubt this is “55 liters” capacity.Although this “30 x 12, 55 liter” drybag easily fit my very basic, average size lightweight +30*F sleeping bag and a small compressible pillow, I did not test for waterproofness. With these items inside I managed to get 3 or 4 folds on the top closure. Other reviews didn’t find the waterproofness to be 100%.A thicker XL sleeping bag for big/tall person and same pillow was a very tight squeeze, and I wouldn’t have trusted the drybag to be waterproof for that use, as I could only get 2-3 folds at the top closure. Also, for comparison, Eberlestock (competitor?) website states their 28”x19” drybag is only 35 liters. I don’t own the eberlestock, so I can’t compare, but whose measurement is closer to being correct? One or both of them is inaccurate.I think eberlestock is likely more accurate in their measuring, as I own 55 liter beverage coolers, and the Coghlan drybag is much smaller than the interior of my cooler.Maybe Coghlan bag is 55 liters BEFORE you close the bag???
