what is the width of the actual countertop?

I bought this island a few months ago and I am really enjoying it. It's great for my size kitchen. The top measures 17w by 44.5 length. I hope this helps.

What tools will I need to put this together?

It goes together with screws and cams. I believe it came with a Allen wrench to use on the cams. There are a lot of pieces!

What are the total interior dimensions with the shelves taken out?

How sturdy is the stainless top? Does it scratch easily?

I am very impressed with the stainless steel. It is sturdy, and wipes clean easily. I am cautious, however, and have a table runner on it so I don’t have issues with scratches.
