Sybex CASP+ CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner Study Guide: Exam CAS–003

Good one,a must have book.book was delivered on time.. everything was good.

I have purchased several Study guides from Sybex in the past -0 and recommend them to tons of students heading into he cyber security field - however - this is not one of them. I took the CASP today and I came close (I think) to passing - but it's not because of this book. The QUESTION bank online that is nothing more than the questions from the end of each chapter - do not and will not prep you for the exam. The questions I know I got right had to do with red teaming, penetration testing, and digital forensics - the cloud based questions and other 3 letter combos -- the book came up short. This is not the book for you to prep for this exam. Keep walking and use another.In the end, the book might introduce the subject matter - but never goes into any detail to where you know you are confident to master the material to figure out what the right answer is. I'm sure there are other sources or materials that will streamline that endeavor - but this book will NOT do that. ...I'll just try again & pass - but after more serious prep from something else -- but this book is trash! Studied Book hard. I'm a pretty smart guy. Book was way out off from test. I could easily pass practice tests included. Would highly not recommend. Book does read well and I learned alot. Just not a good material for exam.

This book is written by the same people who write the CASP certification test. I used it in a BootCamp and it helped me pass the test. Study hard, read the book and look for online resources to fill in the gaps. Its a very hard test, but this book was worth the money.

Disappointing for a sybex product, a pale shadow in comparison to the CISSP book from them. Manages to use tremendous space saying very little. The authors mention that they rearrange content from the exam objectives for better flow, but the book often feels jarring and disconnected. You might consider it as a light overview before moving on to a more serious text. I passed after using other resources.
