Mr. Coffee HCLF Café Motion Hot Beverage Maker

I love this frother! This is my third. They last about a year because I use mine morning and night every day. I have lattes whenever I want them. When I have house guests, they're always impressed with how good the lattes are. It's easy to clean -- just take a sponge with an abrasive side and scrub lightly. One thing to be careful about -- when you unpack it, it's easy to miss the little attachment that goes inside that does the frothing. Without that, it's no good, so don't accidently throw it away!

We had the Mr. Coffee Cocomotion for several years until it finally quit. In November 2009, we bought the HCLF from Amazon and like some of the features that are different than the Cocomotion. The two main things are the blending portion can be removed which makes it easier to clean. The second is that it can be adjusted for temperature. It froths very well!There was one review that complained about the noise. I don't find that to be a problem, however it does sound like the bearing is bad. The noise is uneven which makes me wonder how long its going to last.I contacted Mr. Coffee (Jarden Consumer Solutions) by email and had a series of interesting and comical solutions to my concern. They were polite but confusing. They first offered to have me ship the unit back at their expense and I could select another unit from their web site. I checked their web site and there was no coco machine offered. During the many emails I asked does "temporarily out of stock" or "no longer available" mean NO LONGER MADE OR DISCONTINUED? Finally, I got an email from them saying "Model HCLF and HC4 are no longer being manufactured. Please visit our website [...] and choose a different product that would be a satisfactory replacement." I think that was very nice of them but I'm not sure I could make coco in a coffee maker.Today the mailing label arrived for me to ship the unit back. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. One other complaint is it smells like burnt plastic when in use and a slight off-flavor comes into the coco.

I already own this, so I bought it as a gift for a friend. She loves it, too! It is easy to use and the cleanup is super fast. Service from my seller was EXCELLENT!!! It arrived quickly, and was packaged really well to make the trip across the country. I would buy from her again, and recommend her to everyone!

I agree with the description made by another 1 star review. Very accurate description. After getting 3 lemons of the Cocomotion, I decided to try this one. Cocomotion works better, better design and makes a better drink. This one doesnt produce as good of a drink and I dont like the way it heats and its timer. Mine lasted less than 3 uses. Is you really want to try one try the cocomotion. MY friends lasted 3+ yrs.

This just showed up tonight and I am very disappointed with the product. For my birthday, I had received a Back-to-Basics Cocoa Latte machine, but we had problems with the beater on multiple machines, so we settled on the Mr. Coffee HCLF. It seemed to have everything the Cocoa Latte had except the dispenser spout.Well, it's not what it appeared to be. Here are the issues I have with this machine:"Easy Lock Lid twists and locks into place for pouring ease": The lid does lock into place for pouring, but it just sits on the top when "closed". Also, it doesn't close tightly, creating a gap at the pour spout. When you turn the machine on and it starts to blend and froth, the liquid seeps out of the top.Before addressing the other two issues, I want to discuss how this machine heats . On the front is an on/off timer (like a standard kitchen time) that you can set infinitely from 1 cup to 4 cups. The machine runs so long as the timer is ticking, when the timer reaches "off" the machine shuts off."Auto Shut-Off turns your hot beverage maker off after the cycle is complete": Because of the way other hot chocolate makers work, I assumed that this feature gauges the temperature of your drink and turns off when it gets to the right temperature. This is sadly not the case. By "cycle" they just mean where you set the timer and by "auto shut-off" they just mean when the timer reaches "off" the machine turns off."Time to Heat Dial allows you to personalize your beverage experience", or as the actual Mr. Coffee website says, "Multiple heat settings to control the temperature of your drink": Now wouldn't you assume this means you can tell the machine, "Heat my drink to 110 degrees," or "Heat my drink to 150 degrees," and so on? No, it just means if you set the timer to 1 cup, it doesn't run as long as if you set the timer to 4 cups.Another problem is that it doesn't mix very well. I just finished my cup of hot chocolate and there is lots of cocoa mix in the bottom (even more than when I mix it by hand).I will admit, the timer heating feature isn't bad, it's just not what the marketing says it is. If I found the machine in a thrift store, with no packaging, I would think the timer heating feature was just fine, but with the marketing, I was sorely disappointed in the actual product.Overall, I expect a quality product from Mr. Coffee, and this is not that.

I ordered the Cafe Motion Beverage Maker to replace my Back to Basics Cocoa Latte Machine. My husband and I drink Chai Tea every morning, and we want a machine that will heat as well as froth. The Cafe Motion does NOT froth at all, even though the box says it will. It IS easy to clean, and it does heat the tea. I'll also mention that it is a quieter machine than the other brands we've tried, but the fact that it doesn't froth is important to us.

I love this item. It is perfect for making a chai latte, which I drink every single day. Be aware. Never submerse the item in water when cleaning it. It will stop working. That's I why I had to buy a new one. The last one I had was great for a whole two years, until my husband decided to be nice and wash it for me, in a sink full of water.

Wish the frother did more, but otherwise it works great and heats up rather quickly.
