Decent thermometer
I like that this thermometer comes with a probe along with the laser so you can use it in different ways. I'm not sure it's always very accurate but as I use it for candle making, I need it to be withing an average range. The batteries don't last an awful long time but I was using cheaper batteries so this might have been why. Nice enough product.

Easy to use and accurate
Like everyone else, I started measuring different places.Generally it is OK, you pu fridge, oven etc. It is worse with my 3D printer - here you have to think and not blame the company and the meter. Many people expect him to take and measure well. And he does not know that there is no device that measures everything well. Therefore, there is a parameter change and that must be done instead of writing silly and somethime that stiupid comments. But what are we talking about if many of the users compliment the hotel TV that it doesn't work. And there is a switch in the wall plug... Typically stupid British. And it is very common unfortunately. No more comments.

Difficult to get any confidence in the readings
[Quick update after a bit more use - has proven quite useful for identifying cold spots around the house (e.g. uninsulated loft hatch). Still quite difficult to be sure what you’re seeing at times as readings vary a lot when moved just a little. I also used it to check the temp of the back of an LED bulb on a motorbike to be sure it wouldn’t melt things. So it has uses from time to time and for me personally is worth the low cost]Original review. - pretty cheap Small, light, cheap and plasticky but not dreadful given the price. I've taken care to read the instructions carefully and have been trying it out over a few days. I principally bought this to check radiator temperatures for balancing. For this, I think it will be fine because a) I'm measuring similar surfaces at each end of the radiator and b) I only need to really know the difference rather than an accurate temperature. What about other uses? I've done quite a bit of trying it out on different surfaces around the house and readings broadly make sense (e.g. outside walls cooler than internal walls, ceilings warmer than floors etc). I've checked it againts a Hive thermostat and a Govee room thermostat. Hive 17.0, laser 16.7. Govee thermometer 16.4, laser thermometer 16.2.Neither of those other thermometers are calibrated so I still don't don't if any of these temperatures are correct or if they're all wrong. Trying to test against say boiling water is a non-starter as it reads all over the place and higher than 100 when pointed at the water itself when it's boiling (not eally a fair test?). My kettle is polished steel which brings us to the Emissivity adjustment. This adjustment supposedly means that you can set the laser thermometer to give correct readings on different surfaces which emit heat differently. I've tried the settings given in the instructions (e.g. 0.1 for polished steel), but it then reads "Lo" i.e. a lower temp than it can read when the kettle is at room temperature. Any decrease of emissivity setting from the default of 0.95 drops the actual temperature read. With it on default, it read 16.1 vs 16.7 on a plastic part of the kettle close by. Yes, I do need to put the heating on!Also tried the emissivity on other surfaces and basically can't get anywhere with it. So if you're measuring a reasonably matt surface (paint, most things apart from very shiny stuff) I'd say the readings are reasonable, but on polished metal, glass etc it gets a bit hit and miss. I chose this thermometer over others (which don't seem to have emissivity adjustment) for this feature, but my feeling so far after a few days is that it's useless. That doesn't mean I think this is any worse than other similar thermometers - they may (probably are?) the same tech with the same limitations. The laser has a circular pattern to indicate how far away to read from a surface. Or at least I think that's what it's for. The instructions talk about choosing distance for different size surfaces with complicated diagrams and ratios, but don't actually refer to this circular pattern which I think is designed to make that much easier. It seems to work. One other thing to watch out for. It needs to acclimatise before use in a different environment. I took it straight into our cold garage from the house and readings were hopeless. But it does seem to work fine if you let the instrument acclimatise first. The instructions cover this so it's not a criticism, just something to watch out for if (like me sometimes) you read reviews, but skip instructions - which you probably will do at first with this because it's quite fun to just stick the batteries in and start pointing it at stuff. It's a got a frig*ing laser after all.Bottom line? It's OK, but I don't know whether I'll keep it since I can't find a way to get reliable readings wherever I want which then calls into doubt the whole point of having it. I haven't tried the other probe which comes with it so can't comment on that.

Perfect for Ooni pizza ovens/bbq
I bought this as an alternative to Ooni's own infra-red thermometer, it comes with the added bonus of having a temperature probe(meat internal temps)I cant comment on the accuracy but its perfect for pizza cooking temperatures.

Excellent for use with pizza ovens
I bought this to go to my piece oven instead of the overpriced “branded “thermometers. This is really quick and incredibly easy to use.

Works just Great!!
A lot cheaper than other brands a lot more expensive, it reads very well also reads body temperature even though its stated it does not, I was just curious 🤫 paying more does not always reflect the build of a product just that some companies make their own higher price for the same one, but worth checking out other sellers as always a better deal.

What a gadget
I got this to measure temperatures for my reptiles and it does the job perfectly, would recommend for the price you can’t beat it

Instructions inadequate.
Instructions obviously written by someone who doesn’t speak English. Very unclear. Hard to understand. Haven’t tried the product in actual situation yet. So can’t comment on this.
