Great idea and great product.
I like this product for its ability to charge or run my electronics when I am away from home power sources. I haven't had the opportunity or need to charge it via the solar panel just yet, but on my next camping trip I am sure to do so. I did think that it was not working properly, because the cigarette lighter and USB buttons turned their respective section on with a simple push. The three-prong outlet button needed to be pushed and held for longer than I had originally tried. I almost sent it back until I tried one last time and held the button in for about 5 seconds. It works fine otherwise.

Great value
Having looked at other solar systems that are twice the price the rockpal is a great value.Very portable, great for camping and to use around the yard. This unit will be helpful in short term black outs.I have yet to test the solar charging capability of the unit under different sun conditions. However under perfect sun conditions the unit charges efficiently. If I had to find one negative issue with the unit it would be the setting up of the solar panels. It is some what difficult to hold the panels up right and prop up (with the built in stands) at the same time for just one person

Multiple issues, and won't charge
I bought the combo 500wh battery and solar panel to power a portable RV fridge. The system worked great the first 2-3 times. Only to run into a situation where the battery won't charge. I'll plug it in each day, and on a rare occasion it will charge. But 99 times out of a 100, the battery icon display looks like it's charging, but the input is always 0%; and I can charge it all day long, and the battery life percentage never increases. The whole point was to use the solar panel, but I can't even plug it in. Rockpals sent me a replacement 500wh battery (of an older model), which was "nice". However, this replacement with an older version doesn't help...because despite actually now able to charge, it won't run the fridge (fridge gives a low power error with the replacement model). So now I've attempted 2 different Rockpals 500wh batteries, and they have both failed me (in different ways). I just wanted it to work like the first 2-3 times I used it...now I just have 2 expensive batteries that don't fulfill thier purpose. Really upsetting, and back to having to use a gas powered generator/inverter. Maybe a differnt company like jackery or something would work, but I've sunk my money into Rockpals, and their product sunk my camping efforts

Great Product. Poor Manual for Average User
The battery stays charged for months when the unit is offline. Easy to use once you figure out the manual. The manual and labeling on product is poor. The unit can charge from an AC outlet as well as from the solar panels, but there is no input marked a/c.Manual assumes more sophistication than a user like me who is planning for power outages. Buried in the user pamphlet and not clear from the teeny illustration is the info that the a/c charging of the unit is done using the accessory cord that is the a/c adapter. The a/c adapter actually goes into the d/c in labeled port on the generator.Info on what the generator can charge is clear. But, missing is practical info about what the generator can run. User will have to develop the information from the devices they want to run and the energy output of the various output connectors on the generator. So far, learned that I probably can run my router and modem, probably not my desktop. While we hope CA will not have any more PSPS events (public safety power shutoff) and so we won't need to use it, we will definitely update if we do.

Works as advertised!
Easy to use. Powers my 63qt dual zone fridge for 40 hrs, on a moderate temp day, and at least 24 on a hot day. The 120W solar panel is durable, easy to set up, and will fully charge my power unit in 4-5 hours.
