Briidea Pump Start Relay Sprinkler System 1-2 HP at 120/240V

Item works good. The price was great. I ended up taking off the grey/orange plastic connectors. It was a good idea but they kept giving me issues. As the others have said; use the instructions on the paper that comes with.

I installed this relay and used it through the last season. It worked perfectly. Turns the pump on when the sprinkler commands it too. I was using the Wyze sprinkler controller. It was easy to setup.

I did not give this a 5-star rating because there is a cut-out in the front of the plastic box that is only covered by a sticker - this will likely fail over time. This should be modified.

I installed this for my pump and it works perfectly. Nice waterproof housing with a rubber gasket on front opening. The relay trigger wire inlet is on the top, I moved mine to the bottom, less chance of water entering that way. I replaced their steel screws for stainless steel, pointless having steel outside.

For starters, this is a really small box making it cramped and difficult to work with. There are no punchout holes for bringing the wires in from behind, just these goofy ports on the top and bottom that are in theory weather sealed. I never tested the weather sealing as I installed it inside my garage where it's safe and dry. The connectors are a really funky type I've never seen before and made installing the existing wires into them awkward and difficult. Once installed and operating though I figured we were good to go. Not so, there was a short and it tripped my pump breaker. When I opened it up I found several things scorched. I suppose I'm lucky all I lost was a $30 pump start relay and not my whole house in an electrical fire! Lesson learned. Buy a better unit. It's totally worth the money in terms of ease of installation to say nothing of the peace of mind you'll have knowing there's something less likely to short out and catch fire.

Simple to install with easy to follow instructions. I’m using it to automate a 6 zone irrigation system running off a 2000 gallon rainwater tank for my garden. Highly recommend.
