The quietest bass drum pedal
I own a Roland SPD-SX Pro that I use for practicing in my apartment. I am able to play even late at night with headphones or with my amplifier set to low volume. The KT-9 is excellent for drummers who live in apartments with neighbors who live above, below, and next door. The only adjustment you have to live with is that you lose the “slap back” feeling from your foot triggering the bass drum. If you have to have that “slap back” feel of hitting the bass drum, then I would recommend that you buy the Roland KT-10, which would give you that. The sacrifice is that the KT-10 will be noisy if you’re playing late at night and the neighbors might hear you and complain.

Awesome trigger but kind not the best "feeling" kick pedal
Great pedal I returned for it did not feel liek a real kick pedal which the KT10 does (at a small price for its makes a bit of noise, not as much as if you had a real beater hitting a trigger on floor, but the KT9 is silent but feels liek a trigger, K10 can make the foot feel its hitting a real beater, thats why its on my used lookout list.

No more noise complaints
Got a noise complaint from my downstairs neighbors as soon as I got an electric drum set. Figured out the noise being transmitted was almost entirely from the beater of my normal bass drum pedal hitting the electric trigger pad. I was skeptical that a beaterless pedal would that much quieter and was dead certain it couldn’t feel anything like a real pedal. Roland proved me wrong. Feels great, is super quiet, and haven’t gotten a single noise complaint from my neighbors after buying a KT-9. Update: just bought a second KT-9 kick trigger pedal and can now play double bass for the first time.

Solid construction but was missing “included” cable
This pedal has a very solid metal construction, and was easy to set up to my SPD-SX Pro. However the “included” V-Drums cable was not included in the box, so my first step was to reach out to Roland support online and submit a parts request. Update: 11 days after delivery of the pedal, I received a cable from Roland.

Good stuff.
A little pricey, but seems built to last. I removed one of the springs (as mentioned in the included manual) to reduce the tension and make it floppier, which I'd recommend. The toe rest is great, too, especially for ghost notes.

Where do I being? Squeak Squeak Squeak
For $150, this is horribly overpriced! I used it for one minute and it started squeaking! Yes SQUEAKING! That's all I hear is squeaking. Kind of defeats the purpose of a quite pedal doesn't it? Now the squeak is the loudest thing in the whole kit. I tried to see where the noise is coming from, it is in the main shaft. I could possibly try to oil it but I would have to take apart the whole pedal and by inspection the center bolt that allows the pedal to go up and down (where the squeak is coming from) doesn't seem to slide out easily. That is, I don't see how I could fix the problem myself and I shouldn't have to since I only used the pedal for 1 minute! So the first thing Monday I am going to return it or get an exchange. It does work but feels squishy and and somehow restricting and limited as the other rater said. There's no other way to describe it. The only reason I bought this is because I wanted to run this as a second pedal for double bass. Unless you want to drop $250 for a better pedal this is the cheapest option. If you want to know more about how it works as a double pedal you can ask me.

The pedal succeeds in it's purpose of silencing the kick ...
The pedal succeeds in it's purpose of silencing the kick drum. However, it has a somewhat squishy feel when your foot reaches the bottom, and that makes it hard to do quick bass drum notes.
