Well I've seen them cheaper but cause mine's older model taking king ps4 I was happy they at least had drive. Normally around 40 0r 60 for drive. But quality and time was very fair. I've had this ps4 5 years now and basically it was a digital ps4 cause warranty was up sony wouldn't fix it even though they said yep it was defective. Didn't know at time cause never used the drive but when I did lol low and behold it didn't work so I was brave enough after 4 years to do the job and fix it my self. Way cheaper then sending it off. Sony wants 99 bucks to do job if not more, so just use youtube learn how to diy thank the video of the pod casters and finish the install your self totally worth it. Thanks again for selling me drive very happy I can play destiny 1 again 😂😂

I work at a repair shop and have replaced hundreds of these, I bought this one to replace my own PS4 disc drive. The first one arrived and the roller motor showed absolutely no sign of life, only the laser carriage would move. I figured that's unlucky but would try to get a replacement. The replacement arrived and it sort of worked, but the motor ways so weak and the rollers had been worn down to nothing that it would sometimes eject a disc if you press eject 7 times, and sometimes it would never eject the disc. At this point, I was thinking maybe something else is wrong, the fuses do go bad on PS4s fairly often, although usually in that case your disk drive won't work at all. I decided to investigate the internals of the replacement drives to find evidence of usage and oh boy did I find it.See the pictures I have attached, there is some gunk on the roller gears and they look like they had been melted. There are also some electrical dodads that were toasted, and evidence of some very poor solder work. It also looks like some mounting points on the pcb were snapped. Definitely not a new drive and with the amount of damage, I doubt this was even an attempted refurbished drive, seems like some trash they found out back. As always, at least Amazon has your back and took the return of both with absolutely no hassle. I didn't bother contacting the seller/manufacture gorliskil in any way. It seemed like a waste of time with an obvious throwaway company name like that.Oh and neither drive had the correct ejector board. One was missing the micro switch, and the other had a top mounted button, instead of the side button needed on this model of ps4.

Looked in good condition works fine came with the right tools to help remove the power supply and wifi antenna and the old disc drive pretty good deal for under 60 dollars can play movies on my ps4 now

My optical drive was failing, no longer want to eject the disc. YouTube the problem and all signs pointed to the motor was worn out. This optical drive works perfect if you have a 1200 series ps4, A generation 1 the came with the 500mb hard drive back in the day this is the one foe you. Oh and the kit comes with the torqued bit and panel pry you need to get in to get to the drive.

it fits, but will not play game, checking laser eye for alignment and match with old one. i will let you know

This should be sold as used not new, product has clear signs of previous use, the rollers were dirty, did not work from the start, I had to clean the rollers and now it's working, I do not expect this drive to be working longer than 1 year, that is why I got the 3 year protection plan, it solved my problem to replace my defective drive that I had, but I am far from happy with this product. Update: 5 months later it's already started failing

Worth the money. I just installed it, ran a DVD and it works. Plug and Play ready. I still kept my old one and try to compare the difference, only difference noticeable was a small circuit board was darker in green. Otherwise works well.
