My Chemical Romance: This Band Will Save Your Life Paperback – Illustrated, February 1, 2008

I got this as a gift for my partner. As soon as he unwrapped it he started reading it! A great addition to any MCR fan's collection!

Came right on time. Love the book. Very easy to read, sturdy cover & pages.

Firstly, allow me to say that I have been a fan of this band since I was eight years old. I'm now seventeen years of age, and even though I've been a fan for roughly ten years, I am still utterly in love with this band.This biography had a lot of stuff that appeared on My Chem's 2006 DVD documentary, "Life on the Murder Scene," but there was also plenty that didn't appear on the documentary.This book took us into an in-depth look into the guys' upbringing, past leading up to the start of the band, the struggles and addictions that the [former] members all faced, and their stories of success and overcoming their failures.As a die-hard My Chem fan, the only regret that I have about reading this, is that I didn't read it sooner. (In my defence I was in my early teens, and I don't think I could have understood it's richness at that age, anyway.)My Chemical Romance was without a doubt, THE biggest band of our generation. And well, in my honest opinion, they're certainly the most sincere and inspiring. All of the members shared struggles with depression and addictions..But they overcame it, and they went against the odds; They landed on top of the world, and had a great twelve year run as a band.I am beyond proud to say that I have been a fan of this band for a decade, and that I grew up with them. This band practically raised me, and I couldn't have possibly chosen any better Heroes to idolize and look up to. I will continue to be a die-hard fan of My Chem until I stop breathing.This biography adequately shows exactly why this band reached such chart topping status, gained such honorable and dedicated fans, and why we are all just tripping over ourselves in adoration for them, and why they've been such a success.I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of My Chem, or anyone who wants to be. This was a fantastic purchase, and I'm proud to add it to my ever-growing collection of My Chem merchandise.(P.S. The book is also filled with wonderful black&white pictures of the band every few pages or so. Beautiful pictures, if I do say so myself.)

It’s often the case that books about bands or musicians are poorly written and surface level. This book is not that! It’s well thought through, well researched, and you feel you’ve gained real insight into the band and each musician through its reading. One of the best “about a band” books I’ve read.

I was happy to receive this book. I had a copy of it before, but I gave it away. It's the story if the genesis of My Chemical Romance and the extraordinary events that brought five young men together, who while dealing with their issues, brought healing to is many others. The band is gone now, but their story continues to be inspiring. With so many industry contrived artists, this band was conceived and created with heart and talent, and so much more than meets the eye or ear. While the book focuses heavily on Gerard Way, and I would like to know the other members' back story, it is inspiring none the less. It's an easy read and recommend it to teens and young adults, although anyone can benefit from knowing that they are not alone in their struggles and their life has value.

I had bought this book because I absolutely love My Chemical Romance. A friend of mine had gotten a copy as a gift and had shown it to me. Right from the start I really wanted this book so I had purchased a copy. I have not read through the whole book but I have read a bit and skimmed. It is a wonderful book! It contains a back story on the members (Mostely Gerard And Mikey) and how it was getting into the band. This book goes up to The Black Parade. It had a lot of great pictures I have not seen until I had gotten this book. It had shown up quite quickly and in GREAT condition. I fully recommend purchasing a copy of this book. A must have for any MCR fan! MCR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't finished the book yet, but let me just tell you- It is most likely the BEST biogrophy of them out of them all. They go into detail about many situations that were very little talked about, or not at all on LOTMS. I would suggest you know a bit of background on the band before you read it, and watch life on the murder scene, familiar with each cd etc. You can feel like you know everything there is to know about the band, but you WILL learn something reading this..There's full page pictures on about every other page...All in all, if you're an MCR fan, you GOTTA READ THIS!

The book is amazing, it tells so many interesting details about Gerard's life and everyone else in the band, it has their most amazing quotes, some cool pictures, definitely a must-have for all MCR hardcore fans! !! The only thing I didn't like was the fact that by page 20, 2 pages just fell out, they were not well glued to the cover probably. And it's a new book , bought from amazon suppliers!

This book is THE BEST! If you're as big of a fan of the band as I am - you need this in your life!Filled with interesting facts, quotes, interviews and some wicked pictures - this was a great read.

where to start with this book, well my daughter is a big MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE fan and was over the moon with it and said she loved it

I brought this product for someone special for Christmas who is a massive fan, who has been wanting this for ages, and when she received it couldn't have been any happier, i would recommend this book to anyone who is a massive fan of MCR (My Chemical Romance).
