Great Value, Easier To Use Than It Seems
I bought this some months back. My old Emerson MW was dying; the unit buttons were no longer working & I couldn't set anything to cook for less than 30 sec or longer than 5 min without having to repunch in 30 sec increments. The Emerson lasted surprisingly long for an off-brand under daily use, but I wanted something with as small a footprint but able to do more than just microwave. I wanted to get CRISPY food, food that wasn't basically steamed from the inside out so mushy on the outside. These days consumers want multipurpose in their kitchen appliances, & there are lots of new options developed all the time. So I went looking. I did the research, considered range of functions/features, wattage, footprint, price, & customer reviews. I hoped for some sort of toaster/MW, but that is yet to be developed; there was one, but reviews were mixed at best & price prohibitive. I settled for some sort of combo MW/Convection Oven. Among these, a handful were affordable. This Daewoo led the pack for affordability. Some time back, I owned a Daewoo TV, & I loved it. It was reliable, functioned well, good color, and it also had a timer feature, allowing me to set it to turn off at a preset time and to serve as an alarm clock by turning on! I loved that TV! So I am familiar with the quality that goes into a Daewoo. The reviews argued that it was complicated, that you need review the manual every time you need to use the appliance. Careful reading of those warning reviews left me thinking maybe I could work through this or set up a cheat-sheet if necessary. The footprint matched my old MW almost exactly & was the smallest combo MW available in my price range, plus the price was the lowest of all of them. So I bought the Daewoo. Well, I mainly bought it to replace my MW; it does that very well. And it isn't difficult or complicated. You can punch in set time by 30 sec increments or you can select a power setting (I always use 900w) then turn a knob for the number of minutes (up to 20min I think). Not hard. Keep metal out of it when using MW; not hard. And I like how anything that cooks long is then given a "cool down" automatically once it finishes the set cooking time; that's a nice unexpected feature. There are also options to either use a Convection setting or a MW/Convection combo setting. I haven't gotten that far yet; haven't needed or wanted to. But when I do, it'll be like learning a different appliance, so no big deal. Convection Oven alone, you can use metal in the appliance (need to, for the rack to lift the food for hot air to properly circulate). Combo MW/Convection => no metal in the appliance. Simple. So I am very pleased with the purchase & how well it serves my needs. If you are considering buying this, I say go for it. The only advice is to try learning its features in stages; it'll become second nature that way. As for "noise", it's fairly quiet (not whisper quiet, but you can hold a conversation around it while it's running). The only suggestion I would make is for there to be a "reminder" setting. Sometimes I'm perfectly happy to let the food sit in it while I'm busy elsewhere. The "triple-ding" every 30 seconds get really annoying, & I'd prefer to be able to set the number of times it "dings". So, small footprint, good price, combination functions, microwaves well, fan-cooling long cooks, ability to set wattage by hundreds (0 to 900). Some claim it's too complicated for them, but if you learn in "levels" (by function) it's easy to assimilate. I think it's a fantastic buy! I'm very pleased.

Do you miss your Easy-Bake Oven?
I bought this microwave/convection oven to replace an Apollo Half-Time oven in my motorhome, because the dimensions looked right, and the current version of the Half-Time oven seems to be this exact oven rebranded (but costs a lot more). The good news is that it fit into the old cabinet with only minor modifications. I had to shave a bit of plastic off of the front fascia so the door could clear it. I also put some furniture feet on the bottom to raise up the microwave a bit (because the old feet locations don't match up and the new one sits too low), and moved the rear/side brackets and screwed new holes in the bottom of the cabinet and in the sides of the microwave. It was mostly painless, though it took a whole day to get it all done once I made a plan and bought the feet. Now, the bad news. This thing cooks really slow. It's extremely under-powered. I expected it to be a little slower, since it's 10-20% lower wattage than most microwaves and convection ovens in its class, but it's much slower even than that. The old Half-Time oven was slower than my previous RV's 1200W Panasonic microwave and counter-top convection toaster oven setup by a lot, and this Daewoo is slower still. Where I could boil a large mug of water in 2:10 on the Panasonic, and in 3:30 on the Half-Time, this one takes 4:40. Where I could heat up veggie burgers in under ten minutes in the countertop convection toaster oven, this one takes more than 20 minutes on its highest temperature. Frozen pizza takes even longer, and doesn't really come out crispy without overcooking. It takes more than twice as long as the countertop convection toaster oven, and at least 50% longer than the Half-Time oven. This is simply under-powered, and I don't think it ever reaches its highest settable temperature of 430 degrees in convection mode. Forget about making toast with the grill mode (it's so slow that the bread dries out before it gets toasty/crispy, so I now make toast on the stove). So, it's cheap and works, and if you really want something to fit in the old slot where your Half-Time oven used to live, this works. But, if you cook a lot and want the experience to be nice and your foods to be good and not take forever, maybe try something with more power. I guess this also has the benefit of being able to run on a smaller generator or inverter than the faster ovens, so maybe that's a point in it's favor if you're replacing an RV oven, but I'd rather have crispy pizzas and crusty breads, which this has a very hard time doing. Edit after a couple of weeks using it: It's still incredibly, infuriatingly slow. I'm currently 30 minutes into cooking a frozen pizza on the highest convection setting and the crust still isn't crusty. Another annoying characteristic is that when it finishes cooking, it keeps beeping every minute forever until you open the door. I really hate that, and there's no way to turn it off. Edit 2: It died after about 1.5 years of light use. Absolute trash.

We have a small galley kitchen, and my portable convection oven and microwave took up too much room. On top of that the counter depth is custom and smaller than standard. The Daewoo, fits, has the functionality that we require. I did not need a larger size for the 2 of us. I am very happy with it, especially as it is priced exceptionally well.

Twice the price of a regular microwave oven but it seems to be a well engineered product. However, to use all features it needs to be wired to its own circuit breaker. Convection oven uses 1800+ watts.

I live on a boat so we try to get the spaces to double up. I designed a whole shelving space for this unit out of hardwood...quite expensive...it has the proper 4" ventilation on the left side, 5" on top, 6" at the rear, and 3" on the right. I have used the convection feature 4 times. It does not work as well as another brand I had on my last yacht, but it was usable. I am really angry because this was a lot of work to install. I guess the answer is to get a reliable microwave and give up on convection. And I will not buy Daewoo again.

I must say that I am very disappointed with DAEWOO. This was my first purchased of a DAEWOO brand microwave, things started good at the beginning, but within 3 months of the purchase the microwave completed defected and didn't work. Since the warranty is still in effect (within the 1st year), I had contacted DAEWOO customer rep (R. Berman) on May19, 2020 to start the process of getting a refund or exchange. Photos and serial numbers were sent numerous times as per DAEWOO's request, things get dragging on and on and on and on ............. etc. I have waited very patiently for responses each time, but each time it seems DAEWOO failed to contact me back about the outcome. I seem to be doing chase down of responses when I am actually the customer. The last email reply I had received from DAEWOOD was Nov 17, today is Dec 8, 2020 and once again DAEWOO did not keep word. I have not received my warranty refund nor did I get a respond from DAEWOO on what the outcome was. This is truly and extremely very disappointing, the process is long and time consuming and to think such a big company would act on their promised warranty promptly, but I guess not. I will not recommend to anyone on DAEWOO.

Damaged so I returned it. Also measurements were not quite exact , which was important because I had a specific space to fit it in. Amazon was great at the return process however
