It is a better quality than re-branded Heath units at big box stores. It cost more, but I expect to get more than a year out of these. I had boxed in my eaves and made provisions around the house for central PIR locations. Located so cross field would trigger lights on each side of house. Switches compact fluorescent lamps okay. Relay is audible, but not too loud.

I have bought the best Led outside lights from lowes And Home Depot with motion detection . Two sets from each store on the same day. They all failed within six weeks because of the motion controller. The RaB has been in 0 degree weather with high winds and it has seen hot days . Still working great. If you are looking for a good motion detector that is worth having, this is the one!

Gave up on inexpensive motion detectors on my outside floods that never lasted long. This is the real deal; works well and should last a long time.

Purchased from Amazon in December, 2014, and has been operating fine for a little over three months -- far longer than the typical Heath/junk models so commonly sold at places like Lowes and Home Depot. The latter seemed to die within just a few weeks, sometimes sooner. My thinking is that these cost more for a reason! I will update this review if this device starts to behave like its competition!

Why does Amazon continue to sell items that are misrepresented in pictures and descriptions? This is a RAB motion detector as stated. Picture shows a vandal grill but item came without it. Not a big deal but I would like to get what I ordered! RAB products are about the best your going to get for motion detectors but they all have a limited life and fail - some sooner than others. I’ve had cheapos last for years and others fail in a month. Same with the RAB but it usually goes the distance and it is what is typically sold at the Electrical supply houses.

I've been in the Electrical field my entire life, over 30 yrs This is in my opinion 1 of the best outdoor IR motion sensors on the market Easy setup and long life with dependable automatic control of lights
