Does this product have the capability of being hung from a tree limb, as opposed to mounting it on a pole? Thanks!

Absolutely. I attached clear fishing line to a fairly heavy fishing weight, and threw the line over a tree branch. The weight pulled the line down to me. I removed the weight, and attached the fishing line to the hole behind the Owl's neck (the hole is in the upper "torso" of the "wings and torso". I then pulled the Owl up to the desired height, and tied off the fishing line around the tree trunk. I used plenty of line so I would be able to move the Owl up and down. Make sure to find a spot where the Owl's wings won't be restricted by other branches.

The description says its weather resistant, but how well does it hold up in heavy rain? We get a lot of hard rain here.

don't bother.

This is a joke at best. If you want something to laugh at go for it if you want an actual deterrent forget it. I've found the sonic ones are much much more effective.

THESE WORK. I have chickens and a few have been kiled by chickehawks so as a deterrent I bought three of these and put them on 20 foot high steel poles. No more chickenhawks!!!! These work so well!!!! One problem is thought that they are not durable. One small storm and they wont make it through it the wings will fall apart etc. We had a mild rainstorm with mild winds and the owls did not make it through this small rainstorm. I will kind of hoping the company would send me a couple of replacements in lieu of the ones that went bad.

Works great!

I got the owl to keep the raccoons, squirrels and red robins out of my yard as they were tearing up my lawn. Note, you will have to buy your own pole, I got mine at Home Depot (haven't had time to paint it yet). I put it next to the a/c unit in my yard so the air coming out the back of the a/c causes the wings to flap. On windy days the owl looks like it's ready to take off. I haven't seen a raccoon, squirrel or red robin since I put it in my yard.
