Excellent replacement for the original Fein fitting - great cutting; stays sharp and does not fleas much.

My husband is in hog-heaven. The blades arrived—I ordered two of them—and five minutes later I heard the saw buzzing in the dining room. My husband cut up dozens of boxes we had accumulated, stacked up all the now-flat pieces, put them in our recycling bin, and put the bin outside for pickup. Beats the heck out of using a pocket knife or kitchen knife or, even worse, a pair of scissors. With a knife he had to use force to cut through heavy boxes, which led to occasional bruises or cuts. He finds the blade much easier and quicker to use. He plans to use it cutting carpet next. Great price, get a couple, tools have a way of hiding from you.

I bought this oscillating multitool (OMT) blade to use while shingling our new shed, since I figured it would be quicker and less strenuous than manually cutting the shingles with a regular hooked blade in a utility knife. While this blade did make the cuts faster and easier than the utility knife, I found a few issues: -The ease with which this blade can cut makes it difficult to maintain a straight line, as it can quickly zip through material before your fully lined up. -OMTs seem to have a sweet spot in the blade where they cut best, and if you go in and out of that sweet spot the cut speed will change. -That sweet spot also tends to concentrate wear in one spot, and the fishhook portion of this blade was too dull to reuse after shingling our 8'x12' shed. That's part of the reason for the 4-star review, as I only was able to use this blade for one project (I'm sure it would last a lot longer on carpet or linoleum though). -The orientation of the cutting surfaces on this blade and the positions my Dewalt OMT could hold the blade in made finding a comfortable position difficult. -Trimming all the overlapped shingles flush to the drip edge once the roof was finished was infuriating, as the tool would get bogged down trying to cut through 3 shingles at joints, which is the other reason for the 4-star review. I'm certain I would have had less issues and a cleaner cut if I had just manually cut the shingles flush using a utility knife, so this blade didn't give me much advantage. -The blade became covered in gummy asphalt after cutting shingles, and I was too worried about slicing my finger open while cleaning it to bother trying to clean it and save it for another project. Overall, if you intend to use a hooked OMT blade for shingling, I'd recommend a cheaper alternative, as the blade is likely going to be junk once you're done with it. However, if you plan on using the hooked OMT blade for carpet or linoleum, this would be a great blade with lots of very sharp cutting surfaces.

This made cutting carpet into manageable sizes SO much faster and less tiring than using a utility knife. Very happy with the purchase. My only gripe is it didn't have something to store it in, those edges are deadly, the points will for sure stab you if you aren't very careful.
