A good value, but with some limitations
My beloved HoverCam Solo 8+ stopped working with my MacBook Pro as soon as I updated to the latest version of Mac OS. Repeated contacts with the tekkies at HoverCam proved futile so I needed a quick alternative to finish teaching my spring semester university ZOOM classes. For about 1/4 the price of the HoverCam, this Aver M5 fit the bill and the tech support folks actually returned my emails ... the next day! The Aver M5 is not in the same league with the Solo 8+, not nearly the resolution with a noticeably noiser image , much lighter build quality, no manual zoom feature on the base of the camera, a smaller range of articulation of the arm ... but it works! At about $100 vs. $400 for the now non-functional HoverCam, it's a bargain!

Must Have Tool for Online Tutors
The Aver document camera is an outstanding product. I was immediately able to plug in my Aver and begin using it. Then I found the app that lets you do so much more. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I could write on the screen for books that I was sharing with my students and even take photos of those screens if I wanted to. The clarity was amazing. I have always struggled with using my personal books off of my bookshelf with my students, but with this tool, I absolutely can. I found the autofocus to not work as well with the plug-in option, but as soon as downloaded the app and shared my screen, it was beyond perfect. Thank you Aver for creating a product that allows me to do my job so well.

It won't let you show a whole document using the touch software
It's weird. If you use the camera with the Camera app on windows, it's sized mostly right, but it's skewed and hard to correct. Using the touch software, it zooms in and blows up the document and you can't really take a picture. I'm sure it's great if you want to magnify a document, but if you also want to take a photo of one, it's awkward.

Loved doc camera
Love love love my new document camera. I’m thinking of getting one for home in case we are virtual again. Many of my co-workers have liked it and asked about it.

Great web cam and doc camera
What a great doc camera and web camera in one, a real upgrade from what l was using….two separate devices. Love that there’s only one cord, and a mic built in. Very user-friendly. Great value and well made. Works for my classroom.
