I used an ion meter to measure the output of this unit and several others I purchased on Amazon. This unit had 0 ion output at 7" from the electrode. I think I had a dead unit. I measured the voltage at the electrode relative to ground of this same unit and it only measured 2400 volts, which is not enough for ion generation. The other "ionbox" unit made by this same manufacturer which plugs into AC and had a fan did have a measurable output at 7" from the product of 1 million ions per cubic centimeter over a conical angle of about 30 degrees which is good, but not as great as other units for sale on Amazon that I tested.

since it is battery operated, you can only run it for short periods of time. if you leave it on for an entire day, you need to replace the batteries, which is ridiculous. i am disappointed.

It was difficult to get it to come on & I have to hold the button in for a few seconds to get it to stay on.

Did not like it at first, wanted something the emitted clean air that I could feel. But after using it for awhile found out the it is cleaning the air around me, I am not sneezing as much. It sits next to my computer and helps to clean out the allergens from the air. It is mighty for its size.

Just didn't have the effect I was hoping for didn't notice any positive effect or air purification. Bought 2 of them and uses them non stop for 10 days and didn't notice anything besides the mountain of used batteries building up. If there was a way to confirm that they actually generated something more then loads of dead batteries I wouldn't feel like I wasted money.

Idk if it even works... I also didn't know it was battery operated which is disappointing. I'm returning this and going with a different product.

Works well. Very compact. however, it takes a while (over an hour) to become effective.
