Great Stuff
This product really does work well if you apply it properly and most importantly let it completely dry. I will say I have only applied this product to hard and soft fire brick, so bare that in mind. I have in the past applied HT 100 with a spray gun, but if you go this route you must use a texture spray gun. A regular HVLP gun will clog instantly. I’ve stopped doing that now, I find it a bit messy. I simply apply it with a paint brush in a series of coats. I’ve seen several reviews where that customer has stated that the product burned up. If this product has even the slightest bit of moisture left in it, it will burn, crack, or flake right off. Let it dry for a minimum of 24 hours, but more like 48 is really needed in my opinion. Once it is dried and set, it’s a surprisingly robust material and should last for the life of the forge.

Expensive but worth it!
This successfully raised the temperature of my custom-built ribbon burner forge by roughly 250 degrees so we can forge weld successfully in it! Love it! If I ever have to re-coat (which I may not have to since it is very durable) I will gladly buy more.

Works as Advertised!
Ah, the 100HT Ceramic Radiant Heat Reflection & Protective Refractory Coating—a mouthful of a name, but hey, it’s like the Shakespeare of furnace coatings. I recently slathered this stuff on my trusty furnace, and let me tell you, it’s like giving your furnace a spa day. The 100HT coating is like a frugal furnace’s dream. It winks at your gas bill and says, “Fear not, dear blacksmith, for I shall reflect radiant heat back into your kiln, forge, or whatever fiery contraption you’ve got going on.” And voilà! Energy savings galore. Picture this: Your furnace is a medieval knight, and the 100HT is its shiny armor. It shields your refractory lining from the slings and arrows of outrageous slags and fluxes. No more Cinderella-at-the-ball transformation into a pumpkin for your bricks! The only con I can think of is that it took way longer than expected to dry. I mixed the stuff with the ratio advised on the jar but it still took a while, and the penetration into the insulation was hard to accomplish. But, it still worked great at the end, so no biggie.

Great for my hard fire-brick forge.
I built a propane forge using hard fire bricks, instead of soft fire bricks. Soft fire bricks reflect more heat, but they are more expensive and more fragile. Plus with concrete plants down the road, I got the hard bricks for practically nothing.Anyway, I seemed to be struggling losing a LOT of heat into the hard bricks before the entire forge got up to heat. So I bought this stuff and put it on the inside of the forge. It comes in a tub, almost like wet sand. Take it out, cut it with water, mix it up, and then paint it onto the surfaces of whatever you want. The proper material to water mixture seems rather thin, but it's what the manufacturer calls for. This stuff reflects SO much more heat back into itself than before. It was a great purchase.

Makes my forge happy!
This stuff is great! Not only does it allow my forge to get up to welding temp but it also helps on saving fuel, I went from about 8.5 hrs burn time per tank to upwards of 12.5 hrs! (Per 20 lb. tank) depending on what projects I take on during that time of course. Not to mention that when USPS lost my original package this seller very promptly sent me out another package within an hour! Great product and great customer service, I will definitely buy this product again from this seller!

Excellent Product
Excellent product. I used 100HT to coat1-1/2"ceramic fiber blanket in the construction of a small furnace for bronze, copper, and brass. The furnace was damaged during a recent move so I ordered another pint for the fix and second overall coating. Original build was late 2018, the pictures are of second coat in 2021. Over 2 years of heavy flawless use on original coating of100HT! Good Stuff!

Don't waste your money like I did
It showed up with no instructions at all. It's impossible to apply in any type of way. Worse of all it burned up in the first firing. I could o bought 12 lbs of refractory cement for less money.

Great stuff!!! must have for any oven
Wow this stuff really works! I mean it really does reflect a lot of heat, and does just what it's supposed to. After some use it may form a minor crack somewhere but it's very impressive stuff. The cost is something else, but I'd have to say it more than pays for itself. I can use cheap board to do the job of Duraboard 3000.
