Recliner mechanism broke years ago. I've been rigging it since, expecting to replace the recliner next time it broke. When it broke over the weekend I had an epiphany - see if someone sells replacement mechanisms. Watch a YouTube video on replacing the mechanism. Ding! Removed busted mechanism in 3 minutes, measured it, and searched Amazon. Sure enough, found the exact mechanism for roughly $10. Arrived in two days; installed in 5 minutes. Recliner works like new!

So nice to have a replacement part that fits and is easy to install! Unfortunately not everything is made to last these days so there is this product. The pull on my couch broke and I found this pull and I bought an extra one just in case! If you need a replacement for you couch recliner then this product is for you!

Easy to install just like the factory works perfect

You should be able to get by with a phillips head screwdriver, stapler and depending on the wire retaining clip removal technique a hammer. To install: 1) move felt covering from bottom and figure out whats broken. Make sure to measure the part you're replacing so you get the right size exterior handle piece and interior wire (one or both need replaced). If your exterior pull handle isn't broken then you may only need a new cable with attachment clip. Saves you some money just make sure it includes a retaining clip about 4 inches from interior frame attachment. Mine was a push button clip. Should just push in after the old one is removed. 2) do not expect directions but if you get frustrated look at the direction pictures on the product page. Now, either remove the wire from your new exterior handle or... 3.) While couch is in normal position remove bottom screw, flip couch upside down and remove upper screw from old exterior piece if they are broken (mine broke at the exterior attachment pulley arm inside the chair). Remove piece(s) needing replaced-i used this kit but didn't need the new wire. 4) remove the wire from the new exterior handle. 5) place exterior piece in hole (try the wire placement to the inside of the exterior handle while you are comfortable to make sure you're not on your knees too long. 6) attach wire to exterior piece and interior attachment (for interior, slide crazy hook all the way into the hole the old one came from) 7) push retainer clip into place. They are fragile and the old one is a pain to remove without breaking but you have replacement pieces so just get it out. The new clip should lock in and try not to make a reason to remove or you may end up breaking it. 8) with everything in place try to open your leg rest. 9) put top screw in place to exterior handle while your couch is flipped 10) put couch upright and put in the bottom screw. If you have the right length wire and proper exterior bracket you should be good. Materials seem solid and durable. Pictures on the product page are accurate but don't show the interior clip or crazy hook attachment. Saved a ton by not buying a new loveseat so I am happy. Process isn't difficult as it reads but you may want pictures of different attachments prior to removal in case your 16 year old loses his mind trying to figure it out.

Not necessarily easy to replace due to the hard plastic clip. Try using pliers to squeeze the clip. And I would recommend snapping a picture of the cable connection location before removing the old cable. I didn’t do that and it took a few minutes to figure out where to attach it. 🤪 But once installed it works perfectly.
