In honor of Judy Moody's younger "bother," the creators of the award-winning series have put themselves in a very Stink-y mood. Shrink, shrank, shrunk! Every morning, Judy Moody measures Stink and it's always the same: three feet, eight inches tall. Stink feels like even the class newt is growing faster than he is. Then, one day, the ruler reads — can it be? — three feet, seven and three quarters inches! Is Stink shrinking? He tries everything to look like he’s growing, but wearing up-and-down stripes and spiking his hair aren't fooling anyone into thinking he's taller. If only he could ask James Madison — Stink's hero, and the shortest person ever to serve as President of the United States. In Stink's first solo adventure, his special style comes through loud and strong — enhanced by a series of comic strips, drawn by Stink himself, which are sprinkled throughout the book. From "The Adventures of Stink in SHRINK MONSTER" to "The Adventures of Stink in NEWT IN SHINING ARMOR," these very funny, homespun sagas reflect the familiar voice of a kid who pictures himself with super powers to deal with the travails of everyday life — including the occasional teasing of a bossy big sister! Review: Great book! - I love this book. I read it to all my 2nd graders at school along with Stink's sister's book (Judy Moody). The kids love it and it is very entertaining. Review: We love stink - I love purchasing books for my grandchildren. I purchased this for my three year old grandson. He loves a little story. The pictures are engaging. He sits and he listens to the whole story, so in my book that's a big win.

we LOVE this series
These books are great. It's been difficult getting my son away from "informational" type books. He started reading one of these, and he's on the 5th book now. They are fun, easy to read, enjoyable topics, and he learns a lot from them. Each book has factual information in it that we always look up and it's true. He gets excited about what he's going to learn next. In this particular book, he learned that you actually shrink a teeny tiny bit by the end of the day from the effects of gravity. GREAT series.

Fun to read AND educational!!!
When I bought this book for my 3rd grader, I thought it would be similar to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series that he loved. However, as he was reading, he started asking me questions about James Madison, then Dolly Madison, then specific questions about their time in the White House. Puzzled, I asked him what he was reading. When I heard it was this book, I was astonished and delighted!!! He's not only enjoying the book, he's learning too!! I am definitely buying the rest of this series!!!

My son read this and immediately asked for the rest of the Stink books..
As many have posted, trying to find a chapter book that isn't too hard or too easy and is interesting can be quite the challenge! With Stink he sat down to read it (after a little prodding) and proceeded to finish it in one sitting and ask for more. High praise indeed! My son is a tad stubborn (he doesn't want to read or like his older brother's books...sigh, anyone want some Magic Treehouse books???) and loves a book with humor. He is 8 years old, in the second grade, and is above average in his reading (don't all mothers think their children are above average?? But that is what his teacher says). He is also reading the Wimpy Kids books and Captain Underpants as well as all things Star Wars (age appropriate). In any case, this book did get a pretty fast thumbs up from my youngest...and is definitely worth a try! JTG

Divertido y con enseñanzas
Para un niño bilingüe tiene algunas palabras que no son parte de su vocabulario, pero en general es bastante entretenido. Lo compré para mis hijos de 8 años

My 6-year old says...
The simplest of all reviews. While waiting patiently for the next installment of "How to Train Your Dragon" my son and I needed a new read. He's small for his age, so Stink seemed like a good fit. About 20minutes into the read he says, "It's good, but not at good as Roscoe" (referring to Roscoe Riles Rules). I had to agree.
