Nice reel for the money. Review after 1st week using reel. Updated, best sub $40 reel out there..
My first 2 reviews deleted due to 100 character limitUPDATE....I have upgraded my rating. Have been using this sub 40$ reel for couple months now. Not kidding, paired with my Gator tail, its my go to all around salt water rig. Still is smooth as glass. I really dont believe it myself, but thinking of pairing a new one with a St Croix MOJO 9 ft MM Fast. Think it would be a perfect rig.UPDATE... I own two of these. I admit i have changed my surf fishing rig to Bait Runners. But both reels i own work perfect. Advice. if you are not a person that can trouble shoot an issue with a fishing reel. Buy a 150$ reel. if you spend less, might need some work on your end. I have read negative reviews on this product. If you cant check proper drag washer order. Very common issue with lower priced reels. Dont buy one. I have pushed these reels to the point I believed it would break, burn up drag. And still works. Pictures i posted are reel...lol Funny right....You not gonna get Shamino Saragosa feel at $40.Update. 5/2021 I now own 2 Sea Knight 6000 reals. If Sea Knight made a 6000 bait runner. Shamino would be in trouble. Both show ZERO corrosion. Work and look new. One a little smother than other. This is the reel that I keep in my truck on 6ft pole 24/7. Works perfect. My opinion, its the best non Bait Runner sub 40$ reel on market. HEY SEA KNIGHT / MAKE A BAIT RUNNER / WILL OWN MARKIT. G

light, smooth, and great feel
I normally use baitcasters but I needed a spinning reel to cast lighter lures that baitcasters have difficulty casting. Originally, I was looking at the pflueger presidential reel but didn't want to spend that much on a reel i may not use too often. I opted for the Seaknight Rapid 2000 H spinning reel for my light weight setup. The line guide has a nice design to it, allowing the line to easily spool after casting. No line twist, and the distance I can cast with a 5 inch worm is pretty good for spinning reel. I have it spooled with 10 lb braided line and a 2/0 hook. It took me a little bit to get accurate but now i have the release timing down to allow for more accurate cast. Another thing about this reel that was appealing is the higher gear ratio and smooth spinning from the ball bearings. The drag had no issues pulling in a largemouth bass, small one however, but that's why i got the 2000 size reel. Before spooling any line on it, I opened up the reel, it was already greased, which saved me from doing it. I definitely recommend the reel over other store bought ones for the price, you are getting more.

Great quality reel for the price
Bought this reel for bass fishing mainly. Have been using it for about a month now. From the start I was very surprised by the quality. Not only does it look great with my rod but the quality feels great. I'm very rough with my reels since I fish mainly from the bank and I fish about 2 to 3 times a week. Did some bed fishing as soon as I got it. I got the 2000 model. Biggest bass I've caught with it has been 3.25 pounds I believe from bed fishing. The bass gave me a great fight, it felt too easy with the reel, very smooth when fish is on. Would definitely recommend for someone not looking to break the bank for a good quality reel. Not giving it a 5 star review quite yet since I've only had it for about a month.

Good Fishing Tackle!!
I bought this reel last spring but never used it until yesterday. I paired it with an appropriate weight Kast King rod!Yesterday I went fishing at a fishing pier in the Gulf of Mexico and I hooked a monster fish!! I was using a size 1 hook, a short wire leader, a weight , and a pin fish.I fought this fish for 30 minutes fully expecting to have my line broken or worse. Oh yeah I was using braided line fortunately. My point is this reel and rod amazed me in how well it handled this huge fish!! Drag worked perfectly, fish pulled an out line, I pulled line back in, etc. until I finally got it up to the bottom of the pier where I learned I had just caught a huge sting ray!!I am very impressed with this rod and reel for the quality at a reasonable price!!!!Tight lines!!

Great low-cost reel!
I was skeptical buying this reel because of it’s price. But, I am glad I did! It performed beyond my expectation. I have a Yo-Zuri Fluorocarbon 12-lb line on it. I used it on numerous occasions only in saltwater. I have caught big Spanish Mackerel, Porgy, Blurfish, and Black Seabass on; 2 of each fish on a double-hook rig, all of them taking some drag which was pretty smooth and quiet. Tightening and loosening the drag was no problem. Overall, the reel is smooth when casting and reeling. So far, no issues with the reel (knock on wood). I really enjoy fishing with it. I will do a follow up comment once/if I land a monster Striped Bass or False Albacore Tuna on this reel.

Broke on a 1.5lb catfish!
Did not last. I used it maybe 10 times in fresh and saltwater. I rinsed it after each of the few saltwater uses. I never caught more than a five lb fish and it broke on a 1.5 lb Catfish. It looks great and reels smooth, but it should have lasted longer; very disappointed.

Not bad but not good
for the price, it's not that bad. I would probably keep as a backup but handle flexes a little too much under load. Drag is decent, feels very light, and line capacity is not accurate, I would say 15% less than advertised.

Stop comparing apples to oranges.
Fantastic saltwater reel for under $40. I bought the 6000, layed down some 20# mono for backing, then loading up 60# braided, mounted it on a Berkeley big game MH 8' seated the reel with two hose clamps, then wrapped it with electrical tape. I have been pulling Bull reds, sheepshead, snapper. This is a workhorse rig that gets the job done well.If you want to spend more on gear, be my guest. I am old school, I am not caught up on overspending on certain brand names just to go fishing and have some fun.I will replace a few other reels with these Sea Knight rapid IIs, I am impressed with the quality for the value.Lastly just because it says anticorrosion, You still have to take care of your gear..wash it and oil for next time.
