Book Review for Windows 7 for Seniors
Windows 7 for Seniors: For Senior Citizens Who Want to Start Using Computers (Computer Books for Seniors series) is an excellent book to help seniors learn how to use the computer. There are simple exercises that aid in understanding many sections of a personal computer. For example, How to Manage Your Hard Drive; Files and Folders; Using the Internet; etc. There are screen shots that match the screen on the reader's own PC, which help greatly in the learning process. The book is good either in a class environment or as a self-taught version. This book is a valuable tool for anyone, not just seniors, who want to learn how to use Windows 7 and a personal computer.

VISUAL STEPS is not just for seniors. I'm a PhD. with brain injury and lost all computer education beyond 1997. So I'm an 8 year-old beginner every time I power-up. I'm also legally blind and I read words that are never stationary, but jump up and down, then twirl around, spinning off the page. This wonderful book allows me to catch a few words that don't make any sense, then match the photo with my screen, do the operation, THEN, I comprehend what I'm doing. By Golly- Gee! These people are exemplary of genius. I have purchased a shelf full of this series.

Easy way to Update to a new System
I belong to an active computer club in the Hill Country of Texas. During several of our recent meetings the new OS (Operating System) Windows 7 has been discussed. At a current meeting several publications were mentioned with "Windows 7 for SENIORS" in the group. The book is published by "Visual Steps" and provides an Accompanying support website.I have used publications from this publisher in the past and found them to be very informative and cover the topics and shortcuts very well. It is the fastest way to become familiar with a new OS and because it is written for Seniors it has extra details provided. It is a fast and effective way to updating and staying in tune with the times. These comments provided to you by an 81 year old senior that is trying to stay in the flow of things.

The key word is START
Great for people who want to START using a computer. I bought a copy for myself (I'm 72) and a copy for my aunt who is 96. We both have some experience with computers but are not experts. I bought it for her because the description says "large print" and I bought a copy for myself to read along with her as she is new to Windows 7. The book is great for people who know absolutely nothing about computers. However, if you have ever used a Windows machine before, this book will be a bit slow. Nevertheless, if you take the time to read the entire book, you will find things here and there that are valuable. I wish there was a Dummies Windows 7 that had large print. That probably would have been more appropriate for her.

Excellent begining book form seniors.
This book is in large type and starts with turning on/off the computer. Throughout the book are numbered icons beside any operation you are asked to perform. These numbered icons correspond to pages in the back of the book that explains step by step how to perform the tasks. These are so handy, I scanned these pages and handed them out so the students need not turn to the back of the book each time they needed help.I use it in teaching adults at the local college, and every student has commented on how great the book was.The publisher, Visual Steps, even has a web page supporting students and instructors.

Excellent book with clear instructions and pictures.
I was taking a computer class for seniors. The instructor was a nice person but he knew computers too well for a class of five seniors who knew very little about computers.. He went way too fast with instruction and we were all lost after the first hour of class.. Two dropped out of the class and purchased this book. I purchased this book as well. Pictures are worth a thousand words if you are a visual learner. Excellent book: easy to read, pictures are helpful and it has turned out to be 1000% better that the eight weeks of class I sat through.

What is the next step in Window 7 for Seniors ...
What is the next step in Window 7 for Seniors. I understand that you have another book Window 7 for Seniors that is hust a bit more advance that the one that I purchase. I am still going over the first book but I am interested on all the window 7 for Seniors that you have published. For the limited use that i do with my computer, Window 7 is just enough. I am not interested on windows 10. this is not for publishing, simply asking for information

Unfortunately my mother still calls for tech support after I bought her this book. This ultimately defeats my purpose of ending basic low level (How do I put in a Dvd again?) tech support inquiries at midnight. The book might cover a-lot however; my, Mother was not engaged enough to keep her attention.

Pensioner
This is really an excellent book. If I had used it a few years ago I would have saved myself much frustration. The other beginner books I have read were a strange mixture of over-simplified advice mixed with over-complicated text. For us oldies nothing is obviuos - I recommend this book to all pensioners without previous comp knowledge. (Iḿ 74 years old)
