Bought this for a new fence and deck install so I know when they are safe to stain. Seems to work great and is pretty accurate but obviously does not get into the core. Softwood, hardwood, and other settings like drywall. For the price and peace of mind well worth it.

This device does a good job measuring the moisture in walls and other areas. I use it in my business to measure moisture content in bathroom walls. It picks up on moisture content behind all kinds of wall material and does what I need it to do.

Ordered this after unfortunate water leak to house after weather event. I wanted an affordable pinless model like the pros use to check moisture content in drywall and hardwoods. This one came with battery and was very intuitive to use, where you switch settings per material. I used it to check progress when my own GC forgot his and then when 3 different restoration specialists came to assess, their readings were basically the same. Have to say I'm impressed. Not sure it's the same quality but for emergency or home use, it seems great.

Awesome. Used this when I was buying a used travel trailer. Found some hidden moisture that alerted me to an issue. Passed on that one! Well worth the money!

This product saved us. We had a air hose leak in our 125 gallon aquarium. After we cleaned up the water, I was concerned about the structure of the stand. I ordered this moisture meter and it arrived overnight. I tested it on multiple areas in our home ti ensure it's accuracy. Then I tested the aquarium stand and it read 67%. It showed red and began beeping. We emptied the tank, flipped the stand over, and found it was already splitting. Could have been so bad.This meter is was ready to go with a working battery, was easy to use, gave quick results, and is worth every penny.

I am a collector of logs from trees in my neighborhood and beyond. With a 14" bandsaw I typically saw the logs into lumber then stack the lumber in my carport to dry for about a year. I purchased this moisture meter to double check that the lumber's moisture content was below 10% and it was actually lower than that at 6-7.5% confirming that the lumber was ready to turn into a project. The advantage of obtaining your own logs is that you can build projects with lumber that you cannot buy from a hardwood dealer. The above project photo above illustrates a project made from logs salvaged from storm damaged trees. The bottom of this tray was made from a white oak downed by a storm. The sides are made from a manzanita tree knocked down by another falling tree in the forrest.

The unit was delivered on time and the packaging is fine. The 9v battery was dead upon arrival and the unit was likely used. The back clearly showed signs of use.That said, with a new battery, the unit worked just fine. The moisture readings provided were within the expected range of the boards. The display was easy to read and the rubber side grips made it easy to use correctly.The unit is fine, but I might seek a different seller to assure it is new and unused.
