other than trigger plastic (clear one it comes with) needing sanding to fit right its really easy to install and its a must have if you plan on modding a ps4 controller

- All the pieces you need are in the box with spares. - The step-by-step instructions on the website are excellent. This kit is great for refurbishing old controllers. It just works and the buttons and triggers feel much better than the originals that Sony provides. In my case, I'm playing competitive fighting games so I need triggers that feel less like triggers and more like buttons. This kit enables that. One reviewer noted that the sound of left/right triggers and left/right shoulder buttons was different for him. This can be very annoying! But it isn't exactly true: In the box, there are transparent trigger buttons in 2 pairs. Visual inspection doesn't reveal any difference to me but I'm half-blind and yet still I could swear that they sound and feel different. What you want to do is test them and pair them appropriately, that is, put in the transparent buttons and test them for sound and feel before you reassemble your controller. It took just one test to get left and right triggers and shoulder buttons sounding alike. I hit a small snag when attaching a trigger: I fumbled, slipped, and the blue buttons attached to the trigger microswitch flew out. It's a tiny piece that's easy to reinsert if you have tweezers, but even easier to lose. There are no spares in the box for these blue switches. After this happened it took a bit of fiddling to get the trigger to feel and sound right. This is probably a skill issue on my part. If you're new to modding, just be extremely careful so that you don't accidentally loosen parts that are easy to damage or lose. This is a great product. Thank you eXtremeRate!

I love the product easy install and all except for R2 and L2 button hard to press. The solution was to sand them down a bit and everything works

The installation was fairly easy, but requires a bit of finesse and at least 20 minutes of your time. The plastic piece that is placed inside the triggers is not a perfect fit for the V2, so for most users it is best to carve down the indented end of the pieces by a hair using an exacto knife. The buttons are a little difficult to mash for me, and they wobble around pretty noticeably and I wish they had more give when pressing. You will definitely notice the gap in quality compared to pro controllers with mouse clicks built in, but overall I am happy with the results here. It gives a standard dualshock a personal touch without having to shell out $150-$200 for a pro controller that will break inside of a year. I am thankful to have clicky, satisfying buttons on one of the more reliable controllers of the last decade. I’d recommend this over razer or nacon when it comes to playstation 4, specifically.

If you are familiar with opening the controller then it is no problem at all. They even give you a QR code that leads to a tutorial video if you get lost. What they didn't tell you is how hard getting the buttons to work with the triggers (L2 and R2 buttons). Maybe if you have a V1 ps2 controller you'll have an easier time, V2 owners are going to have SERIOUS trouble. Getting the plastics into the triggers and having them STAY PUT was a huge problem that took me HOURS of sanding the plastics down, and that wasn't even the hard part. The real problem was aligning the trigger buttons to the clicky button which took forever to do. I kept disconnecting and reconnecting the triggers to the point where I accidently broke off the blue button from the clicky kit (which by the way I had to find on the floor and is the size of a grain of rice) and also broke the 4 cables that control the vibrations for the controller. Couple of hours later and I finally got both triggers to work (they should make a clicky sound, if you don't hear it then you did it wrong). Was the upgrade nice? Yes. Was it worth hours of trial and error? No. Was it also worth losing the rumble from my controller? NO. If you really want the clicky sounds for the controller then go ahead and do it, but beware if you have a V2 controller. If you ask me, I think a usb-c mod a much better upgrade for the controller, and it only took me 10-15 minutes to do without any stress.

Works amazing, if you play Fortnite listen up so when you click into your build it works nice but when you click out of your build you have to actually click the button and not fat finger it, personally I don’t mind having to click it more then smash it but I read a comment when I ordered mine and some guy was complaining about it, I think the product deserves a 8/10 cause sometime it acts a little buggy like it doesn’t shoot but chances are it’s how I installed it, I also just bout the dawn 2.0 and I’m gonna to install that today on top of this add so now I’ll have a full on scuff basically, I’m sure it’s going to be hard to do all of this especially since they’re no YouTube videos on it but I’m going for it, wish me luck extremerate cause you guys really have to make a video on paddles with the clicky buttons cause I’m not the only one trying to figure this out

I had high hopes for the Clicky Kit by eXtremeRate, but my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Firstly the installation process for the Clicky Kit was simple; the product itself was completely faulty. The parts didn’t work as they should, and after installation, the buttons wouldn’t click properly. Even worse, the kit required me to clip the trigger, which ended up permanently damaging my controller. This wasn’t due to user error it was because of the poor design and low-quality materials of the kit. Instead of enhancing my gaming experience, this product ruined my controller and left me frustrated. I cannot recommend this kit to anyone. If you care about your controller, avoid this product at all costs.

This kit fits perfectly as long as you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. The controller feels better than new and requires 0 soldering. Only took a few minutes to replace.

I only wanted clicky face buttons and wanted to keep the triggers as analog inputs. There's no clicky face button kit but it's easy to modify this one. I snipped off the shoulder and trigger buttons, see the pictures. The traces are isolated so it won't affect the rest of the buttons. I installed it on top of the original conductive film and it works perfectly!
