Can I confirm if this is a genuine Apple product since one customer comment suggests it is not?

Yes, as per Apple Support it is a genuine Apple product. I was told by Apple support that the serial number checker on the Apple site is only recognising "bigger" products like a phone or computer. Keyboards & co will come back with the error message. I have asked the Apple support team to make this clearer on the Apple site so to avoid buyers' confusion.

Rubbish. Rattles and no backlight.

Big downgrade from previous versions. The keys all rattle about with awful fit and finish, and it has no backlight. Well done Apple (not...) :(
