Get Published In Literary Magazines: The Indispensable Guide to Preparing, Submitting and Writing Better

Wonderful tips for any writer looking to improve their skills….
This was such an easy book to read. Allison has a fun writing style which made turning each page and reading each chapter fly by. Interestingly, I have this same title as an eBook. Since I’m not familiar with highlighting and bookmarking pages in Kindle, I got myself a paperback so I could highlight, dog-ear, and make notations, as I went along. My plan is to work my way back through this book and apply as many of Allison’s amazing and shared writing experiences, ideas, and suggestions toward my further writing success. If you're new to writing, or are having difficulty knowing how to get published, I highly recommend this book. Allison has a successful writing career, and even though we haven’t officially met, I consider her a mentor worth following – not just on social media but especially in writing skill."

This book will help you do more than just Get Published In Literary Magazines.
I've spent most of my professional career in the IT field, doing systems analysis and design -- a pursuit that requires you to learn how to think about things. It also requires you, pretty much, to learn how to write intelligibly, if not enjoyably; do *you* like reading manuals? The other thing it's taught me is how to tell when someone's bulls***ting you.Knowledge is important stuff; it can get you far. But the higher you climb up the ladder, the more importance experience takes on.Experience is what's embodied in this book. It's clear -- at least to me -- that Allison has lived through all this stuff; that she's learned the lessons which she teaches in this book the hard way, and that they've stuck. I will probably never need to know the specific lessons she teaches in the book, as they apply to getting published in literary magazines. But that doesn't mean I didn't learn something from reading it that I can apply to what I do for a living. The lessons it teaches all have an undercurrent of generality; you learn from them more than you expected. That said, the book is very good at being a book, as well. I've always hated books -- primarily non-fiction -- that don't understand (or don't implement well) the "tell em what you're gonna tell em; tell em; tell em what you told em" approach to non-fiction presentation. This one not only does, it does so consciously, and stylishly.Mission accomplished.Looking forward to the next one...

Everything you need to know about breaking into literary markets
I love this book. It's not only encouraging and fun, but extremely detailed about exactly what you need to do to get published in literary journals. I've read other publications on this topic, but Allison's advice is the best. I know I'll keep this book handy on my shelf as a I advance along this road of finding readers and expanding my voice in the literary world.

Do It Like Allison!
Allison K. Williams is that friend who gets more done in a day than you can manage in a month. A former aerialist (yes, really), she writes, edits, teaches, blogs, and now is producing a podcast. At the same time she is so open, generous, and encouraging that you imagine you might be able to be a teensy bit more like her, if you’d just listen up. Now you have your chance. This little book is like having Allison right next to you, pushing sometimes, boosting always. She covers everything from how to keep frustration from creating a downward spiral of self-loathing and despair (because if you’re not getting rejections, you’re not really writing, right?), to how to keep track of what you submit and what becomes of it, to learning which journals are right for your work, to becoming, like Allison, an exemplary literary citizen.

Excellent Value
Allison has written a comprehensive and compact guide for getting published in literary markets. She combines humor and a conversational writing style with plenty of practical information. This book is essential for writers who are new to these markets, but equally helpful for those who want to be more organized and strategic in their approach to getting published. Much of the information can be applied to all types of writing and markets, not just literary magazines.

Old Data
I just scanned and tossed it aside. The information seems to be old.
