Great android media update for the E46
This is excellent, was quite a pain to install as there isn't much room for all the wiring but once it's in then it sits nice and flush and looks like a factory unit. Lots of features and does everything I'd need it to. 5 stars.

Worth the upgrade
I had a BMW Business OEM Radio / mini disc player in my 2001 E46 , although I had added Bluetooth using an adapter it was still all very basic and old , I decided to buy this Awesafe head unit for an upgrade wasn’t expecting much for the £150 I paid , what a surprise it’s £150 well spent . The unit runs android 10 although only 2gb rom and 32gb storage which the operating system takes a large chunk of , the boot up time isn’t too bad ( I added the BMW logo on boot up ) unless you go for a unit with 4gb rom and 64gb storage but then you would probably pay almost double like the Enon units . The Awesafe unit also has 2 SD memory card slots to expand . I use my phone to tether the wifi to it to install apps and for the GPS and watch you tube videos and I use the Bluetooth from my phone to play music . It comes preloaded with Google maps , I also installed Waze both work great . I installed the unit myself which was fairly easy there are loads of videos on YouTube on how to do this . I kept the unit basic no camera or dab . I mounted the GPS antenna behind the unit on a metal bar which is out of sight and I still get a good GPS signal . Later I might buy a DAB antenna because I’m not getting good radio reception from the unit but that’s probably not the unit could be my car ariel so I use Bluetooth for radio stations from my phone . In all a good upgrade if you own a E46.

Looks OEM and makes a massive difference
This BMW android stereo head unit is well presented in a good looking retail box with all the plastic installation tools and cables etc.. There's everything you need to fit the stereo.I like the clear pictured instructions which shows you which cable connector, connects to what speaker or gadget. The head unit is very good quality and feels and looks OEM and flush fitting. My BMW has upgraded speakers and suborder and was a direct cable swap and was an easy install because I don't have other items. The main thing is seeing how you extract the OEM unit and make notes of how things work, which then makes plumbing the new one in, easier. Before installing the head unit in, it's best to test it before screwing it in and thus saving you alot of time. It came on and looked awesome!I finished off the installation and operating the android touchscreen couldn't have been easier. Its not different than operating your large android phone or tablet. I found it easy to navigate and think most people would feel familiar with the android.Accessing music and other features felt straight forward and easier for me to navigate about. The unit also looks much cleaner with less buttonsThe screen size is plenty and very smooth and fast on screen touch sensitive operations.I am very happy with this stereo head unit and the sounds that come out sounds more powerful.

Would give 5 star but had/having a few issues.
Firstly it looks much nicer in person and for most e46’s fits nicely. If you have a Nav system you need to buy the 6m extension for the quad lock, then run the wiring through the car under the glovebox and through (not very difficult)The GPS was unusable for myself as when the GPS is screwed in it hits the heater vents and won’t fit. (Will need modifying)I ordered the recommended apple car play dongle and having no luck as the head unit isn’t giving the option to allow the USB so it’s un useable (at the moment and awaiting a reply)Start up is a little slow also but not stupidly slow.Onto the positives, looks nice and OEMHas a nice feel to it and looks better in person then the photos.Easy to installSounds really nice. Improved the sound quality a lot.If i can get the car play sorted I’d give it a solid 4 starts 5 if it wasn’t for the GPS problem. All in all a good head unit and I’m happy with it.Really wanting the Apple Car Play to work though.**Update**No help from AmazonNo help from seller. No way of contacting them. Also the clock goes out 4 minutes a day and start up is slow.

Easy to install excellent Carplay
AWESAFE Car Radio, Android Carplay is a super easy to install very sleek looking stereo. This 2G+32GB car stereo comes with every cable and instruction you need. No surprises when you install it which really only takes around 30mins maximum.NIce and sleek looking design shows off top of the range quality. It really is a good looking replacement for the standard stereo. I can now connect my phone to the car and listen to music, stream videos and use my map and gps without any trouble.Easy to use to use this high end design is straight forward and you can learn all the functions within minutes of using it.For the price you pay you get a solid well design stereo which is top of the range and comes with all necessary parts for easy installation.Excellent value for money I can highly recommend it.

Music for the Masses
Great device, easy to fit, we all need a bit of drivng music, Clarkson did a while CD of hit driving tunes once upon a time, I would recommend The Real Ramona by Throwing Muses or Lykke Li's first two albums which will very much wind up other road users when you're stuck in a queue heading for the coast on a hot weekend. Radio has no filter to block out Heart or Magick FM, unfortunately.

Impressed!
Perfect fit and stock look! Installed in a 2005 bmw 330ci, read that an extra cable may be required, but I didn't need one replacing the stock unit. I wasn't familiar with what GPS apps were available, but found a couple that work/look better than Google maps and available offline. (also run faster/better than on my pioneer unit in my jeep)My only negative is that the radio doesn't seem to have great reception, but I'm mostly listening to music off the SD card / Bluetooth. Comparing to other units this starts up quick and isn't lagging between screens /functions.
